September 28 is World Rabies Day
Stronger Together: One Health, One Goal - Ending Rabies
Rabies is a deadly but preventable disease that reminds us how closely human, animal, and environmental health are connected.
This year’s World Rabies Day theme, “Stronger Together,” emphasizes the power of collaboration. Veterinarians, physicians, public health professionals, communities, governments, and pet owners all have an important role to play in preventing rabies and protecting lives.
For pet owners, one of the most important things you can do is keep your dog or cat's rabies vaccination current. Vaccinating pets protects them, helps protect your family, and contributes to broader community protection.
At Whitelands Animal Hospital, we believe in the One Health approach because protecting the health of our pets also helps protect the health of our families and our community.
Together, we can make a difference. Stronger together, we can work toward a world without rabies.
