We did it! The Beagle Bill (Senate Bill 381) is headed to Governor Shapiro’s desk. The bipartisan legislation was unanimously approved this week by the Pennsylvania Senate.
The bill was inspired by the rescue of thousands of Beagles from Envigo, a Virginia facility that bred them to be sold to laboratories for animal experimentation. But it doesn’t just impact Beagles – it protects all dogs and cats by: Ending the sale of cosmetics that have been newly tested on animals.
Ensuring healthy pets have a chance to be adopted after the experiments are over.
Increasing transparency in animal experiments,
Limiting when taxpayer dollars can be used in testing.
