Event held rain or shine. Leashed dogs welcome! A valid photo ID is required if visiting Beer Garden.

Note for participants and attending pups: Applebrook Golf Club will host a fireworks display at 8:00 p.m. for their members. Please plan accordingly if you wish to depart before the display.

Thorncroft's 5K Trail Run & One-Mile Move-As-You-Please Course offers a completely unique environment to participate next to our horses while you run, walk, or move-as-you-please!

Move right into the After-Party to visit with select horses in the barn. Chat with senior staff and lead volunteers to learn more about our adaptive and recreational riding horses and how your participation in the 5K & 1-Mile supports their crucial role at TEC.

Our 5K & 1-Mile Move-You-Please event is designed to be an inviting first experience to Thorncroft or another memorable return. Register online or day-of and enjoy the perfect summer send-off at the Farm.

Today our friends, Lilah and Stetson, return to DelVal Equine after joining us for three wonderful months in our summer programming.

Our participants' equestrian knowledge thrived under their education, and their TEC fanbase cannot wait to watch their achievements with their riders this school year.

An extra thank you to DelVal Equine's Dr. Cory Kieschnick, Allyson Villareale, and Taylor Adams, for sharing these friends with Thorncroft.

Week of Equine Education II-Highlights!

Thanks to all who joined for our August Week of Equine Education-it was a joy learning alongside you!

We welcomed amazing speakers and instructors presenting and teaching new classes, along with popular classes returning from our unmounted week in May.

Thank you, volunteers!

In only seven months, Thorncroft volunteers have given a total of 7,386.50 hours of their time, energy, and enthusiasm!

Our volunteer team of 150+ is a driving force behind our work.

Their commitment to our participants, horses, and community allows the Farm to continue to provide life-changing services to over 400 individuals annually.

We are honored to have their dedication to our riders, participants, horses, and mission.

Welcome, Carolyn Mayo!

Carolyn Mayo joins Thorncroft as Director of Advancement & Strategic Partnerships, bringing executive leadership experience in advancement, philanthropy, strategic partnerships, marketing, and communications.

Most recently, Carolyn served as Senior Vice President of Development & Marketing for SERV Behavioral Health System and its five separately incorporated service organizations, providing executive leadership for fundraising, marketing, communications, and strategic partnerships across a diverse behavioral healthcare network. Throughout her career, Carolyn has led initiatives that have helped mission-driven organizations grow their impact, strengthen community engagement, and build meaningful relationships with donors, foundations, corporations, and volunteers.

A graduate of Westtown School and Bard College, Carolyn has long valued the power of experiential learning, community, and service. Her love of horses began while riding at the Southlands Foundation in Rhinebeck, New York, and her family’s connection to Thorncroft is especially meaningful. Her daughter, Chase, had her very first equine experience at Thorncroft, creating a lasting appreciation for the organization’s mission and the transformative bond between horses and people.

Carolyn is excited to join the Thorncroft team and looks forward to building relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners while helping share the organization’s remarkable story. She is honored to support Thorncroft’s mission and help ensure that its life-changing equine-assisted services continue to enrich the lives of riders and their families for generations to come.

This week we celebrate the first International Equine-Assisted Services Day!

Equine-Assisted Services (EAS) is a unifying term recommended by leaders in the EAS industry and refers to multiple services in which professionals incorporate horses and other equines to benefit people.

At Thorncroft, EAS (Equine-Assisted Services) encompasses adaptive/therapeutic horsemanship, including adaptive riding and ground-based programming, as well as our specialty programs: Introduction to Horsemanship for members of the military community and our Adult Horsemanship Program for participants 21+.

As we celebrate this inaugural International Equine-Assisted Services Day, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the Thorncroft team, volunteers, equines, and community; your support is at the heart of everything we do.
