An Important Update from DFW Pug Rescue
Effective immediately, DFW Pug Rescue has closed intake. This was an incredibly difficult decision, but one we must make to ensure the long-term future of our rescue. Adoptions, fostering, volunteering all remain unchanged and active!
Over the past year, the needs of the pugs coming into our care have changed dramatically. We are seeing more seniors, more medical cases, and more dogs requiring extensive treatment than ever before. As a result, our average monthly expenses have grown to $59,000, almost double what they were just one year ago.
At the same time, our steady monthly income remains just under $20,000, creating a gap we can no longer sustain.
We have no choice but to pause intake, reset, and build a stronger foundation.
This pause is not the end of DFW Pug Rescue. We have a plan. Over the coming months, we'll be expanding our volunteer team, improving our organizational structure and processes, and growing the recurring income needed to responsibly reopen intake. Our goal is to return with a sustainable intake model of approximately 25 pugs per month (to start).

🐾 Join our team. We're recruiting for leadership, manager, coordinator, and volunteer roles across the organization. We're looking for both long-term and short-term commitments. Many positions can be filled remotely from anywhere in the United States, while some, such as event roles, are best suited for Texas residents.
