3 new additions on the farm! We are working towards building up our little flock of Old English Bantams to hatch chicks ...

3 new additions on the farm! We are working towards building up our little flock of Old English Bantams to hatch chicks from our layers instead of relying on an incubator. Currently,we have 2 hens due to hatch chicks behind her. Hens don't require electricity. No running an incubator for 21 days,then a heat source for the next 6 to 8 weeks after to keep chicks warm,so no losses should we lose power. Heat from hens body is consistent,no sudden drops or spikes that can happen during artificial incubation. She also teaches the chicks how to be chickens. Not to mention,it's just plain FUN!
