‼️We have an exciting announcement‼️
We would like to welcome our latest rescue, Ranger!
Ranger is in his twenties. He isn’t coming from a kill pen or a highly publicized neglect case. He came to us from a local boarding facility where he had been living in limbo for quite some time.
At some point, his owner stopped wanting him. The exact timeline isn’t as important as what happened afterward. Ranger remained at the facility while others did what they could to keep him fed and cared for, but he was essentially left without a long-term plan.
Now that Ranger is here, we are seeing just how much he needed someone to step in.
His teeth are in very poor condition, and he needs an emergency dental. He is having significant difficulty eating, and his dental issues have undoubtedly contributed to him being seriously underweight. At his age, being able to comfortably eat and maintain his weight is not something we can simply wait on. His dental work is a priority.
We know Ranger is exactly where he’s supposed to be.
He is finally in a place where we can address what he needs, give him the care he has been missing, and make sure his remaining years are spent with dignity, comfort, and security.
This is exactly where we believe rescue can have the greatest impact.
Every horse in a kill pen, every horse found abandoned, every horse rescued from neglect was once owned by someone.
Somewhere along the way, something changed. Finances changed. Circumstances changed. Priorities changed. And when there wasn’t a safety net, that horse fell through the cracks.
The horses we see in the worst situations didn’t start there. They got there one decision at a time.
We believe rescue can become that safety net before they ever reach that point.
That is the sanctuary model we’re committed to building.
This isn’t about pointing fingers at one part of the horse industry. The truth is much bigger than that. Too often, horses are viewed through the lens of what they can provide- whether that’s competition, breeding, work, recreation, or income. When they no longer fit that role, too many are left without a plan.
For many of us, horses gave us purpose. They shaped who we are. They carried us through childhood, taught us resilience, and asked for very little in return.
They deserve that same loyalty from us.
We believe every horse deserves a forever plan. A place where growing old isn’t a burden. A place where they can live out their lives with dignity, safety, and peace.
Sometimes the greatest rescue isn’t pulling a horse out of a true crisis.
It’s recognizing that a horse is quietly struggling before he ever reaches one.
