Got these 2 projects finished up finally. Just needs a day or 2 for the habitat to finish drying and then they are ready to head out the door!!

When you start your days at 3:30 in the morning because you can’t sleep for some reason (Amanda lol) and work until 7pm because the softball fields are to
wet to practice, you can get a lot done in a week. Should have a lot ready to head out next week.@

I say it every year. Be careful and precise with your cuts when wanting a shoulder mount. If you’re not sure give me a call and I’ll walk you through it or send you a Video. You don’t have to bring it to me but I want you to get a good mount so do t hesitate to ask. We can fix a lot of things but only house so much when parts are missing. This is the 5th one this year so far that has come in like this or worst. Again if your not sure call me and ask even if your taking it to another taxidermist. Better to have to much cape then not enough.

Everyone wants to know why is taxidermy so expensive and why does it take so long. Beside the cost of materials that keep going up, the time it takes to mint an animal and do it correctly can be shocking. Here is an example of what we have to deal with from time to time. There are not many forms in different sizes for the rams and goats killed here in Texas. So we have to get one that’s close and start altering it. This takes time extra materials that usually aren’t quoted as part of the work. Most of us just take it in stride and figure we get some hard ones that take more time and it’s made up for on the ones that go together quick and easy. It all comes out in the wash. (No Spanish goats don’t have teeth like this. We were having a little fun with this one.)
So be patient with you taxidermist whoever they are. They want to get the work out as bad as you want them to. They have to pay bills too and most of us only take a 50% deposit which covers the materials and about 1/2 the labor so we don’t make any real money until the animals are picked up.

It’s a family affair!
The youngest killed a good fallow a few weeks ago and brought it in so mom, dad, and older brother had to join in and killed a great whitetail, blackbuck, and fallow this weekend. These are going to make some great mounts!! Thanks for trusting us with your trophies!

Y’all are killing it this year. Great start to the season and congratulations to all the hunters that filled a tag so far. Keep those trophies headed our way!! We appreciate the buisneas and look forward to helping preserve that trophy and memory.
