To many people, pet sitting is just "playing with puppies all day”. In reality, behind every cute photo of a sleeping cat or an excited dog at the door is a mountain of hidden hours. It’s waking up early to beat traffic, driving across town in a torrential downpour, and spending hours a day just staring at the pavement to make sure everyone gets fed, walked, and medicated on time. It’s the constant packing and unpacking, the late-night commutes, and the mental checklist that never really shuts off.
Some days, between the long drives and the empty gas tanks, I find myself wondering why I still do it. Then I walk through one front door after another hearing the thumping of a tail against the floorboards or a furry shadow sprints down the hallway, completely bursting with joy just because I showed up. Or an anxious kitty who has been hiding for days finally creeps out, lets out a tiny meow, and trusts me enough to come close. In those moments, the hours on the road completely melt away. Animals don't care about the commute or how tired I may be; they just give pure, unfiltered, unconditional love. Knowing I am their safe haven and their best friend while their humans are away makes every single mile entirely worth it.
Thank you to all my clients and the endless love you all show making it 10x more enjoyable!🩷
