We picked up a cat who was trapped and the caregivers transferred into a carrier. The caregivers failed to put a towel, sheet, p*e pad or anything in the carrier and the cat did what cats do, p*ed and p**ped.

When we got her she was covered in both.

Please don't put cats in carriers without a towel or something in the carrier to soak up p*e and keep p**p away from the cat.

Also, this cat was trapped by accident while the caregivers were trapping for kittens. Please don't trap without a plan. You don't want to have to release an unaltered feral cat from a trap once you have her - you may never get the opportunity to get her into a trap again.

We're keeping her fed, watered and comfortable until we can get her in for spay this coming week.

Brothers Chilli and Mango went home with their new mom and dad!

Yesterday, we got a call about five kittens that had just showed up at a house in Swannanoa. We're full with no room for more kittens, but we told the homeowner we'd come out to get a look at the situation and make a plan.

When we got there, the whole litter was up underneath a car in the driveway. All but one took off to an opening in the foundation of the house and disappeared.

We were able to grab the last kitten who was very emaciated. We felt like there was a very good possibility that mom was no longer around. Because of that, coupled with the fact they were getting up into the underside of the car, we didn't feel it was safe leaving them so we set to work trying to lure them out with food, grabbing them as they popped out of the opening in the foundation.

One by one we managed to grab the entire group of five. They're safe and heading to foster.

**Update: this baby didn't make it. Her injuries were much too severe and the only compassionate thing we could do for her was to end her suffering.**

This little baby is on her way right now to South Asheville Veterinary Emergency & Specialty.

Injuries look like a possible animal attack, and she now has flystrike in the wounds.

We're working to save her, but need your help.

Please donate to her recovery through this post or at paypal.me/sisterkitten, venmo.com/sisterkitten or Zelle (Zelle tag: sisterkitten).

Zen and her sister Nova have been in a terrific foster home with wonderful foster parents for a few months, but they need a home of their own.

These girls are sweet but initially very shy. They warm up quickly once they get settled in. These are not instant-gratification girls; these are girls who will need time to adjust to a new space.

If you're in the market for some gorgeous sofa jewelry and are willing to be patient while they adjust to your home, Zen and Nova will love you forever.

Fill out an adoption application for them at: https://www.sisterkitten.org/adoption-application/

Our buddy, Sylva, has been at Petco for a few weeks so we were taking him back to his foster, Tracy, today to give him a break.

Sylva had previously been in foster with Tracy for a couple of months while he got over a URI.

When he came out of the crate at Tracy's today, he walked all around the house like he owned the place. He clearly felt he was home.

Tracy felt that way too and has decided to make it official and add him to the family.

He hasn't stopped purring and kneading since he got back home to Tracy's.

We're so happy for him and his new mom!
