Yesterday, we got a call about five kittens that had just showed up at a house in Swannanoa. We're full with no room for more kittens, but we told the homeowner we'd come out to get a look at the situation and make a plan.
When we got there, the whole litter was up underneath a car in the driveway. All but one took off to an opening in the foundation of the house and disappeared.
We were able to grab the last kitten who was very emaciated. We felt like there was a very good possibility that mom was no longer around. Because of that, coupled with the fact they were getting up into the underside of the car, we didn't feel it was safe leaving them so we set to work trying to lure them out with food, grabbing them as they popped out of the opening in the foundation.
One by one we managed to grab the entire group of five. They're safe and heading to foster.
