Everyday before I leave the cathouse for the night we read scripture, we started in Genesis and tonights chapter was Jeremiah 38, followed by a Psalm picked at random as we always do. Tonight it was Psalm 77.

One of our beautiful followers and supporters brought dinner tonight, a wonderful, delicious spread, and sweet get well card along with a donation. We have been so blessed. This reading of the Psalm to our residents is for you!!

Its weird hearing your own voice and i dont like it, but its not for me...

Well got the wife home from the hospital this afternoon, she is resting and resisting my requests to take it easy. ( Wonder where she would get an idea like that? ) But it was a good day. A blessed day. Dinner with my mom, and so many reaching out to see if we had any needs. Again, a blessed day.

Got to the cathouse and one of my brother at arms came to help, hang out, and deliver a load of supplies. The blessed day becoming a pattern, a welcome one.

With faith, a sense of humor, and little love you can get through anything. We serve a wonderful God, he pours out blessings that cannot even be counted in number. For as I sat to read our nightly scripture before leaving the cathouse for the night my audience tonight was Bitsy, Gidget, and Netty ( who was really enjoying some lap time) Folks, it dont get better than that.

This morning I took my wife to the ER with symptoms of what we thought to be a gall bladder issue, after some testing they informed us that she was having or had a lower heart attack and they were waiting for a helicopter to arrive to fly her to Louisville. My first thought was "you have got to be kidding me, with all my heart issues now this?" Well, it was no joke.

I watched as they loaded her onboard and took to the sky, and started making my way all the while calling family members to keep everyone informed. I got a call from her surgeon about the time i was passing LaGrange and was told she was out of surgery, it went well, and they had placed a stint. Our son, who lives in Louisville, was there to greet her as she was wheeled out of surgury.

Not the day I imagined, watching stat flight take off with your wife onboard, making the call to your son to tell him the news...none of that was on my agenda. But thats the day I got. However, the news of her being ok, the smile on her face after i finally found a parking space and made it to the room, the relief of a good laugh as she told the nurse that she was tired of me getting all the attention so she decided to have a heart attack of her own. THAT is the day I got. And I am so ever grateful!! My God is THAT God. And GREAT is His name.

Prayers are always welcome here at A Place for Benny , for there is much power in them. Yes, I ran home to take care of the cathouse...I was a little late but Axl here forgave me, for she is in good hands. They think tomorrow she will be able to come home. I guess now I can no longer blame her for my heart attack, since I apparently gave her one too...lol.

Yes, i have a twisted sense of humor.

Our newest resident at A Place for Benny , Tabitha, is a total sweetheart and extremley intelligent. In just about a week she has our routine at the cathouse all figured out. Actually i think she did in just a day or so. She made herself at home here intantly. Soon she will get fixed and be ready her forever home.

Look at Ace, just look at him. He is the sweetest guy, always happy, gets along with everybody, and just an all around handsome fella. He has come such a long way from such a rough life before the cathouse. It has been one of my greatest joys to watch him become this happy guy from such catastophic injuries. He awaits patiently here at A Place for Benny for his chance at a furever home.
