A Place for Benny

We have had this beautiful little girl for a little over a week at A Place for Benny and she got fixed yesterday. We call her Miss Tillie and she is a shy girl so far. She has a head tilt which we will get checked out as soon as she is healed from her surgery. Her beautiful kittens are at Petsdoc to find their purfect home. Sadly we are full here at the cathouse or we would've kept the kittens here.

We have wonderful kitties galore here the cathouse awaiting the furever home of their dreams. Reach out to us on our messenger to make a visit and meet our residents!

2 adorable kittens dropped and taken in by a kindhearted soul that really need homes. Both gray, look a little Russian blue, one boy, one girl...both sweet but scared.

Getting a little Ruthie love, before the sky starting rumbling and sirens going off. I guess it's round 2.

Some of them don't seem phased by the goings on outside of the cathouse, and some get under something and take shelter...after round one gave such a pounding who can blame them. I blessed the house and told them it was gonna be fine, He knows where we are.

Tomorrow bright and early I get the thrill of doing a stress test at the hospital, so not going to be a good morning with no coffee, drink or food. I just might be a bit grumpy and dangerous.

Tonight about 8 or so the hard working linemen got our electric back up and running. We are thankful for their hard work and dedication, they sure had their work cut out for them. The cathouse was a stale 78 degrees, for today was warmer than yesterday so the kitties were well pleased with the cool air rushing out of window units. A couple of days in the dark isn't the end of the world but it sure makes you appreciate the blessings we have. So to those linemen, a heartfelt thank you from A Place for Benny .

As everyone surely knows, the tornados that tore thru Madison and the surrounding area did quite a bit of damage at around 4 in the morning. As soon as it went thru I checked for damage on our home and the cathouse. Trees down everywhere, power poles snapped, but everyone was ok.

As light came, the cleanup began. A huge old tree behind the cathouse was destroyed and a lot of it was on the ground so much you could not get thru. A huge shout-out to the boys from Chefferguys catering and food truck for jumping right in and helping me chainsaw a path to keep the cathouse running. Now that's neighbors! It's wonderful to see when the community jumps in and helps each other.

We are still out of power, as they are replacing power poles out in front of my home, but I suspect they will have it on sometime today, these guys are miracle workers. We took wet towels and hung them in windows so the evaporation lowers the temperature in the cathouse a few degrees. The kitties may not be at the comfort they are used to, but are getting by. Our outside guys are fine and everyone is accounted for.

We are blessed, we are thankful. This could have been much worse. We thank the Father and His Son for all the blessings bestowed upon us and our mission.

A beautiful day to spend a little time out front, checking our plants with Rabbit. She is a special girl who likes her time out front with me. The fenced in backyard is for everyone, but Rabbit gets her special time. She loves her leash.

She is at my home, not the cathouse, could never part with her.
