Small Animal Associate Veterinarian
$90K–$150K Guaranteed Base + Monthly Production No Negative Accrual

Rocket City Veterinary Services is looking for an Associate Veterinarian to join our independently owned veterinary group in the Huntsville/Madison, Alabama area.
And this is not your standard associate veterinarian position.
We have two brick-and-mortar veterinary hospitals and a full-service mobile veterinary practice, giving our doctors the opportunity to experience something genuinely different:

Practice personalized veterinary medicine in patients' homes.
Practice full-service medicine inside our veterinary hospitals.
See dogs, cats, pocket pets, and reptiles.

LET'S TALK COMPENSATION FIRST.
Because we know you want to know.
We offer a guaranteed starting base salary of $90,000–$150,000, based on experience, PLUS monthly production bonuses.
Production is calculated monthly.
When your eligible production exceeds your monthly production threshold, you earn an additional 20% of the production above that threshold.
No negative accrual.
No carrying a slower month into the next month.
PTO and CE time are yours regardless of production.
Here's a real-world example:
A veterinarian earning a $90,000 guaranteed base salary has a monthly production threshold of $37,500.
If that veterinarian produces $55,686.75 in eligible production for the month, they are $18,186.75 above their threshold.
They receive an additional $3,637.35 production bonus for that month—on top of their guaranteed salary.

We'd love to meet you!
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited veterinary school
Current Alabama veterinary license, or eligibility to obtain Alabama licensure
Ability to obtain and maintain DEA registration as required for the position
Commitment to practicing high-quality, compassionate, evidence-based veterinary medicine
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and team members
Willingness to collaborate as part of a supportive veterinary team
Interest in continued learning and professional growth
Comfortable practicing small-animal medicine, including dogs and cats
Willingness to participate in hospital and/or mobile veterinary medicine based on position and interest
Ability to maintain accurate and timely medical records
New graduates are encouraged to apply; prior clinical experience is not required
Experience with exotic species is not required — doctors interested in exotics will have opportunities to learn and develop those skills
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is kind, curious, collaborative, and wants to practice good medicine without giving up having a life outside of veterinary medicine.
