Well first day of the North Central Sectional Classic started today with Jim Douglas & Meredith Mays in the saddle judging the Limited All Age. Temps got pretty warm but we finished. There were 8 dogs drawn, Keith & I had 4 bye dogs. The winner NGSPA dogs came from the last brace which Keith ran Chief owned by Jake Phipps and I ran Molly owned by Mary & Brooks Carmichael. It was an exciting brace and brother & sister complimented each other. Both had 2 or 3 finds and a back each and finished strong to the front. Junior is owned by David O’Brien and he handled Junior he also had a nice couple finds and finished strong. 4th was Tater owned by Terry & Kirk Bomer ran in the first brace. Tater had a very huge race gone some and had two finds and also finished strong. BIG THANKS TO BOB & JAN ERBE, BOBBIE & HIS SIGNIFICANT OTHER, BROOKE BURKE AND ALWAYS ARE JUDGES JIM & MEREDITH!! BIG KUDDO’S out to DAVID O’BRIEN & JOE BURCH FOR HELPING SCOUT!!! Y’all are AWESOME!!! Pictures taken by Jan Erbe who was also and is our dog wagon driver!! Thank You all!! PS Before ya ask Keith had Mohs surgery for skin cancer on his nose April 24th and April 30th he had plastic/reconstructive surgery and today’s he’s running dogs. He’s doing well and cancer was a carcinoma and all cancer is cleared and gone.

***Ellie whelped a female and a male this evening 5/28/26. We are keeping both so no puppies are available.***

FC Texas Jax’s Frozen Express “Ellie” is bred to NGSPA National Shooting Dog Champion/GSPCA National Amateur Gun Dog Champion/ FC/AFC BDK’s Sam I Am “Sam”. Puppies will be due the end of May. Ellie’s pedigree coming soon. Ellie is out of Uodibar’s La T Da x Chisholm Creek’s Jax OrBetter.

Finally finished the NGSPA NATIONALS w/ the National Shooting Dog.

Winner: O’B’s Stick In The Mud “Stick” owned by David O’Brien handled by Keith Gulledge and scouted by me

Runner Up: PW Evolution’s Re-Creation “Spike” owned by Keith & Bobbi Richardson handled by Rich Robertson scouted by Andy Daugherty

Judges were Alex Jaycocks and John Bonner

** Stick is the son of Sam who won the NSD last year**

Just wanted to shout out to Tyler Burch and Gunner (Janis x Stick) on their 2nd place win in Gunner’s first trial at the Heart of America GSPC!! Great job guys!

Many Thanks to Sheri Neises for the use of her ranch and always a great dog wagon driver/helper. To Kevin & Nicole Donohue for all the behind and through the scenes of running the trial, judging, planting birds, running the dog wagon and just flat out keeping the trial going smoothly. Tom Pollan a long time club member opened and closed gates all day Friday then came down with something and was terribly sick. Praying Tom is feeling better. To Larry & Kim Call for running the Open side dog wagon and keeping use rolling. To Todd Call, Andy Cooper, Kevin Donahue, David High, Rick Wheeler, Tom Wynn, Rob Yarborough for watching the dogs, planting birds and I’m sure many other behind the scenes duties. Chloe Donohue for maning yhe gates all day Saturday. I know I’m probably forgetting people but Thank you all for keeping one of our oldest Shorthair clubs up and running!!!!

BDK dogs had a good 2026 NGSPA Region 7 Championship!! First of all let me THANK OUR GREAT CLIENTS: Kirk & Terry Bomer, David & Peggy O’Brien, Joe & Kristen Burch, Jake & Jamie Phipps, Brooks & Mary Carmichael and Blake Daniel’s!!! 2nd James Messer for planting birds everyday twice a day, Harvey Franco planted a day. Thanks to Greg Blair & Purina and Jim Morehouse and SportDog!! Also Kevin Temple and David Vogelsang for somi g up and helping srive the dog wagon ! Terry had made breakfast birritos ever morning and fabulous lunches and Dinners!! Last but not least, TJ, Dan Cambell, James and Brandon Blum for their time in the saddles watching our dogs THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!

David won the Amateur Shooting Dog with O’B’s Stick In The Mud “Stick”

We got Runner Up in the Derby Classic with LPK’s Running Wild Maverick “Maverick” is owned by Joe & Kristen Burch

We went Runner Up with Texas Preacher Man “Mikey” owned by Kirk & Terry Bomer
