The leaves are starting to change, which can only mean one thing: spooky season is
officially approaching! We are so excited to introduce our October Camper of the Month, Zelda! Zelda joined her family in 2020 as a puppy and has been part of their family for the past 6 ½ years. Her parents originally started bringing her to camp so she could enjoy some off-leash socialization, make new friends, and have plenty of space to burn off all that energy. Her name was inspired by Princess Zelda from The Legend of Zelda, and we think it suits her perfectly!
When it’s time for Zelda to come to camp, she makes sure she gets a good night’s rest so she is fully prepared for her big day. In the morning, she enjoys her breakfast and a quick bathroom break before getting ready to go. As soon as her parents grab her leash, she eagerly waits to hop into the car. The excitement only builds during the drive. Zelda loves looking out the windows and starts making her signature excited whines as they get closer to camp. Since she knows the route so well, her whines get louder and eventually turn into little whistles of excitement! As soon as Zelda arrives, she lets everyone know she has arrived with her famous “awhooo’s” before sprinting down to the yard to greet all of her two-legged and four-legged friends. She then takes a quick lap around the yard to check everything out. Some of her favorite camp friends are Darla Sue, the hound mix, and Gus, the Shepsky. She loves to wrestle and cuddle with all of her camp friends, especially on the play equipment!
When Zelda isn’t at camp, she loves nothing more than playing tug-of-war with her parents. After all that playing, she is more than happy to relax by her favorite spot: the window and the bed. From there, she has the perfect view of all the neighborhood critters. Her favorite animals to watch are bunnies and squirrels, which she takes very seriously because someone has to defend the house! Zelda knows plenty of tricks, but she has one very special trick that makes her stand out: standing upright! Of course, this impressive trick requires a little encouragement from her favorite people. And what better motivation than some of her favorite treats? Zelda loves cheese, strawberries, and whipped cream, with carrots being an
extra-special treat.
Zelda’s parents continue to bring her to camp because she absolutely loves her time here and always comes home happily exhausted. She also gets to enjoy having her nails done while she’s at camp, making her camp days even more productive! We absolutely love having Zelda at camp and are so excited to celebrate her as our October Camper of the Month. We hope she continues to bring her excitement, adorable “awhooo’s,” and big personality to camp for many more months to come. Congratulations, Zelda! We are so happy to celebrate with you!
