We are an all-breed companion animal rescue and affordable vet clinic in Madison, Wisconsin.

e, non emergency veterinary care Monday-Friday. We provide spays, neuters, dental care, and other surgical services for cats and dogs. We also offer wellness health services (annual exams, vaccines, blood work, microchips, etc). Our clinic sees our Underdog animals, and is also open to the public. We offer lower-cost spay/neuter services to everyone, but help with other health services on a sliding scale basis. Email us at [email protected] to make an appointment for veterinary services.

INCOMING: No fee adoption day! 🐶🐱✨

This Saturday, we're teaming up with the ASPCA for — because when you adopt one animal, you save many. 🧡

On August 29th, all dogs and cats five months or older can be adopted for $0. This applies to our in-person event AND pets adopted as usual through our foster network/online. 🙌

Every adoption frees space and resources for the next pet in need, so if you've been looking for your new best friend, now is the perfect time.

🐾 THREE LEGS. ZERO CLUE SHE’S DIFFERENT. 🐾

And honestly? We’re not planning on telling her. ❤️

At just 3 months old, Kiki is a tiny tripawd with a very BIG zest for life.

Missing a leg hasn’t stopped this girl from doing a single thing she wants to do.

🐦 Bird watching from the window? Absolutely.
💨 Running around her room? Try to keep up.
🐱 Playing with her feline foster friends? Every chance she gets.
👀 Watching the resident cats and copying what the big kids do? Obviously.
🥹 Curling up and becoming the snuggliest little cuddle bug when she’s finally worn herself out? Kiki’s specialty.

Kiki doesn’t wake up thinking about what she’s missing.

She wakes up thinking about what she can explore next.

And we think there’s something pretty special about that. ❤️

She’s playful. She’s curious. She’s affectionate. She’s resilient. And underneath that little warrior exterior is an incredibly cuddly kitten who just wants to be loved.

Now there’s only one adventure Kiki hasn’t conquered yet…

🦎 WAIT… IS THAT A GECKO?!

Why yes. Yes it is. 😂

We may not have geckos come through Underdog very often, but when we do, it’s a pretty BIG deal for such a little guy.

Introducing Zuko! 🧡

Zuko is a happy, healthy and perfectly chubby leopard gecko who is ready to scurry his way into his forever home. And this handsome little dude isn’t just fun to look at — he actually enjoys spending time with his people and being gently held!

Never had a leopard gecko before? Here are a few things that make these little dinosaurs pretty darn cool:

🦎 Leopard geckos can live 15–20+ years with proper care — adopting one is a long-term commitment!

🦗 They’re insectivores, meaning their menu consists of appropriately sized live insects rather than fruits and veggies.

🌡️ They need a properly set-up habitat with the right temperature gradient, heating, hides and humidity to stay happy and healthy.

🌙 They tend to be most active around dawn and dusk, so don’t be surprised if Zuko starts exploring when the rest of the house is winding down.

✨ And that chunky little tail? Leopard geckos store fat in their tails! They can also drop their tails when frightened or stressed, so gentle handling is important.

Zuko is already showing us that he’s one seriously cool little dude, and now he just needs someone ready to give him the proper care — and admiration — he deserves.

Today, another group of hopeful faces made the journey from Tennessee to Wisconsin. 🐾❤️

And those big, bright eyes are taking it ALL in.

The Wisconsin sunshine. ☀️
The fresh air.
New surroundings.
And a future that suddenly looks a whole lot brighter.

Every animal who arrived today already has a foster home waiting for them — and that is exactly what makes transports like this possible. ❤️

But there are always more waiting.

More animals we could say YES to.
More seats we could fill on the next transport.
More lives we could change.

We just need more people willing to open their homes and join our incredible foster family. 🏡🐾
