The adoption fee is $75 for cats and kittens and $95 for dogs and puppies, which includes vaccinations and spay/neuter. The goal of this page is to provide networking and exposure for animals at the shelter in order to facilitate permanent homes or opportunities for rescue. Although we do our b

est to provide up-to-date information about the animals in the shelter, this page is run by volunteers that are not employees of the shelter and do not have daily interaction with the shelter staff or the animals. If you have urgent questions or need information about a lost or found pet or the availability of a specific adoptable pet, please contact the shelter by phone at 540.948-6945 for the fastest response. We request that all posts on this page, be constructive, professional and reflect principles of honesty, fairness, and respect. Attacks on social media disparaging the shelter, the shelter staff or another fan of this page may result in the removal of comments or blocking of future posts.

Please come and see us tomorrow at the Taste of the Mountains festival in Madison!! We will be set up in our usual spot in Beasley Park, right next to the Chamber of Commerce (pinned location in photos). Copper, Janice, and Janine will be hoping to find their forever homes, and Dog Dayz Dyes will have plenty of tie-dyes for sale to benefit the shelter. We hope to see you there!

We have the best news to share!
Our sweet and outgoing gal Cricket was adopted today.
She was the best gal and got along great with their little dog and they knew she was perfect.
After she acclimates and feels comfortable, they are sending her to become a therapy/service dog.
We know she’s going to successful.

Our sweet gal Cricket is still waiting for the right person to walk in to her life.
Cricket is an amazing pup who loves everyone she meets. Super outgoing with a great personality. Cricket sits perfectly for treats and loves toys. Gets along with other pups and cats. Has been around livestock and small creatures also. She is always happy to see you and enjoys her outside free time. If you think Cricket is a great fit for you and your family stop by and meet her.

Are you looking for an outgoing pup? Cricket has the best personality she is outgoing, playful and friendly. She loves attention and likes being close to her person. Great with children, dogs and cats. Has been around livestock animals and has no issues. We are certain if you give her a chance you’ll fall in love with Cricket.

Stop by and meet her, she’d be happy to see you.
