Lots of brain work will be happening today and the next few days with sub-zero temps. Meals will be served in some sort of activity. Snuffle mat, puzzle toy and frozen Freeze Bones are some of the ways I’ll be tiring dogs out. I’ve also got a bathroom station set up for dogs that don’t want to stand on the cold-packed snow so their paws feel better (in addition to putting paw wax on their feet and costs on).

Mabel is back for her second round of daycare and she’s doing so great! She wasn’t fussed at all about meeting new large dogs (like Mako who’s snoozing next to her) and she’s all around more comfortable.

*washing the cover on that cushion because Miss Phryne stepped in p**p outside (HOW??!?) and immediately jumped on both couches so I have covers in the wash).

Why does the biggest dog always claim the smallest bed? Silly Barnabas 😆

For comparison, this is Ralphie in the same bed a few minutes later. He’s a Boston.

Also, this is HUGE progress for Ralphie that he’s wearing a sweatshirt. While he will wear his harness, the second the leash is clipped to it he will stand like a statue and refuse to walk. No leash clipped, can walk just fine. He was a puppy mill dog for much of his life before he was rescued and found his forever home and he’s still learning how to navigate the world. He’s been walking around the house with his sweatshirt and we’ll try outside a bit later but I’m so proud of him!

This cute little Beagle puppy had her first day of daycare today!

Mabel is getting used to large dogs and while she did her dramatic scream when she first saw everyone she quickly warmed up and spent her day playing with everyone. We’re still working on quiet time but she’ll get there.

My biggest and littlest guest dogs!

Gargoyle is a Borzoi and Lyle a Chihuahua. Gar would love it if Lyle would play with him but Lyle only likes his older sister (also a Chi) who barely tolerates him 😆. Silly boys.

Barnabas is like Buddy from Elf. "Oh, I forgot to give you a hug!" Every dog/person is his best friend once he sees them.
