We had a Volunteer come by and take Jingle out for the day and here is what she had to say about this sweet boy!
Hi there,
I wanted to share a detailed update from my Day Out with Jingle today, which he was with me for about five hours. He was an absolute pleasure to spend time with and exceeded every expectation I had based on what I’d heard about his background of growing up in the shelter system.
Jingle handled every transition beautifully — leaving the shelter, arriving at my home, and returning later in the afternoon. Once inside, he explored the house calmly and confidently. He wandered on his own without any signs of distress, and when I stepped away briefly, he followed but showed no whining, pacing, or anxious behavior.
He settled far better than I anticipated. After exploring, he napped for a good stretch and self‑entertained a bit by gently shaking a ball. His energy level felt moderate and very manageable. He was clingy only when I sat on the floor, wanting to be in my lap and pressed against my chest, but when I was on the couch or standing, he was independent and relaxed.
He responded immediately to his name and did wonderfully with “sit” and “place.” I could toss a treat or ball and he’d catch it with ease. Indoors, he had no potty accidents and handled household noises — washer, dryer, ice maker, TV, toilet flushing, and even the garage door — without any concern.
Outside, he did well on leash. He liked to lead but didn’t pull, and he was easy to redirect. He showed no reactivity when a neighbor on a riding lawnmower passed by within view; he simply watched quietly.
He did test boundaries a bit with our farmhouse table bench — he climbed up and got a small decorative grapevine ball in his mouth. I guided him off the table, and with a firm “eh” and “no,” he dropped the ball. He was responsive and respectful once corrected.
Throughout the day, he was gentle, affectionate, and very well‑mannered. He took treats softly, showed no barking, no reactivity, and absolutely no signs of aggression. He’s strong, very loving, and generous with kisses.
I’m attaching several photos from our time together. Please let me know if you need any additional details - he truly is a wonderful dog who deserves a great home.
Thank you for the opportunity to spend time with Jingle.
Warmly, Heather
