I have been keeping cresties since 2017 and have been breeding them since 2019.

I’ve got good news and bad news!
The good news is I just proved out one of my 50% hets and hatched my first visual axanthic since October of 2024!!! 🥳🥳🎉

The bad news is I have no idea who the dad is 🤦‍♀️
The baby on the left belongs to last year’s male Frost since it is a Lilly. Frost and Contessa produced 9 non-axanthic babies in 2025, so I was pretty confident frost didn’t get the axanthic gene. These babies are babies 5 and 6 of Mica X Contessa, and babies 1-4 from them all look like they’d be Mica’s rather than Frost’s. So the baby on the left is definitely Frost’s, but I’d like to think the one on the right is Mica’s unless I just got extremely unlucky last year with frost’s pairing. Either way, they are beautiful babies and it’s kind of a fun and unique situation to be in.
