There are very few fractures that are an emergency but an elbow fracture IS one of the worst orthopedic emergencies. We fixed this one up early this AM for Ellie, a 11 lb 6 month old cavalier. Happy Easter everyone!

We would like to give a shout out to Dr. Pearlman and his clinic, North Alabama Veterinary Orthopedics! ❤️

We have sent him a couple of orthopedic cases from Memphis, for which he provided consultation services, and most recently, we were planning to transfer a puppy with two broken legs suspected to have been hit by a car. 💔

Dr. Pearlman graciously offered to perform surgery on the puppy at a significantly reduced cost, making it accessible to the Rescue, and has consistently demonstrated generosity in his pricing for not only our organization but also other rescues. ❤️

His primary objective is to support the Rescue community in providing essential care to dogs that lack access to necessary resources due to financial constraints. He prioritizes saving limbs whenever possible. Although the puppy has since been picked up by another Rescue, we wanted to acknowledge Dr. Pearlman's exceptional generosity!

In our opinion, his selflessness and dedication make him an extraordinary individual. ❤️

One of our patients who was hit by a car and sustained a coxofemoral luxation and an open fracture of the tibia that developed into a nonunion with osteomyelitis/ sequestrum/ infection of bone that we were able to heal over about a year. He will walk out of the hospital today on all 4 legs! We manage these types of injuries pretty often. 25-30% of our patients are hit by a vehicle. We have made the process of managing vehicular trauma accessible, affordable and most important , successful .
