We train dogs in obedience and behavior modification, while teaching families how to be the leaders their dogs need and provide the clear communication for the best relationship possible. Our goal is for our clients to be able to enjoy their dogs as true part of the family; including them in more activities and allowing their dogs more freedom!

12 week old GSD very first leash introduction session 🐾

Sabra was introduced to the leash using a slip lead and food. The mechanics and prep work were already there beforehand: lots of work building engagement, reading body language, food work, and some marker training.

That prep makes introducing the concept of leash pressure and teaching him how to respond to pretty fun and simple! The hardest part is actually getting him disengaged enough for me to apply a little pressure and have the opportunity to teach him how to respond to it 🙃

When you start intentionally from the beginning and build the right foundation, it’s pretty simple to create a dog that naturally defers to engaging with you and is butter soft to leash communication.

Central GA families!

Come spend the morning with us at the Monroe County Library! Bring the family out for Dog Smart Kids, where kids will have the chance to meet some of my friendly dogs while learning how to understand dog body language, safely interact with and greet dogs, and build confidence around them. It’s going to be a fun, interactive morning! We would love to have you there 🐾🥰

No dogs on furniture? Or free access to furniture?

Usually you’ll hear one of the extremes on this topic. But as always, our goal is to create dogs that are mentally sound, balanced, and well-adjusted, which means taking a balanced approach ourselves.

For most dogs, I prefer furniture to be permission based. That means you come up when invited and you get off when asked. More importantly, there shouldn’t be major stress, conflict, or emotional attachment surrounding it. Your dog should be able to enjoy being on the furniture, but also be perfectly content getting off when it’s time.

It’s also important to remember that this can be dependent on the individual dog, their temperament, where they are in training, and the relationship you have with them.

As long as you’re paying attention to your dog’s mental state and keeping things balanced, that’s what matters most! 🐾😊

Eight months ago, Ilana was learning to walk while holding my hand and Galil’s leash. Today, she’s confidently walking him all on her own.

There is something incredibly special about seeing the dogs I’ve loved and invested so much into become her best friends and teachers. Watching them enjoy one another and build their own relationships has been far more meaningful than I ever could have imagined.

Time moves so quickly, but seeing my pack and my little girl grow up together is something I will never take for granted ❤️

“Small Dog Syndrome”… is it really a thing?

Many of you know I have two small dogs- Amici, my Pomeranian, and Nora, my Chihuahua. I adore my little dogs and have always had a special appreciation for small dogs in general. I can be quite passionate when it comes to the label of “they think they’re so big.”

Your little dog does not believe they are a German Shepherd trapped in a tiny body. More often, they feel vulnerable because they are aware of their size. They are afraid, uncertain, and attempting to create space in the only way they know how. When leadership is absent, dogs naturally begin taking responsibility for themselves. This often presents as barking, reactivity, possessiveness, or other behaviors commonly dismissed as “little dog syndrome.”

Beyond that, dogs who lack proper structure, stimulation, boundaries, and purpose frequently become anxious, insecure, entitled, or generally dysregulated.

Small dogs deserve the same guidance, clarity, leadership, and fulfillment. When we stop excusing behaviors because they’re little and start meeting their needs, it’s remarkable to watch them transform. Some of the most stable, capable, and enjoyable dogs I’ve ever known have come in very small packages 😊

A little late to this, but we just wanted to say thank you to everyone who supported and participated in Cherry Pawsome at Macon’s Cherry Blossom Festival.

We loved getting to meet so many of you downtown, and I’m especially proud of our dogs! They truly showed off in the best way..total superstars 🥰🌸🐾

🌸 2026 Cherry Pawsome Contest 🐾

We are so excited to be part of this year’s Cherry Blossom festivities in Macon! We’ve teamed up with Shannon Hughes Pet Photography and other dog friendly local businesses to bring you the Cherry Pawsome Contest! This is a fun way to get out with your dog, meet fellow dog lovers, and support our local community.

How it works:

First, stop by a participating business and grab your dog’s Cherry Pawsome bandana.
Then take your dog out and about during the Cherry Blossom Festival wearing their bandana!

Shannon and I will be out around town spotting dogs in their bandanas and handing out a fun variety of prizes from local businesses. If you see us while you’re out, be sure to come say hi and you might just win something!
