As we head into fall and With Ducks season quickly approaching, I would like to go over freezer burn and taking care of your birds. Lately, I have been working on birds that have had excessive freezer burn from improper care of trophies. Excessive freezer burn can impact the final outcome of a mount.  Excessive freezer burn can also take longer to skin, which can cause feather slippage, and other issues. It is simple, and only takes a couple of minutes to take proper care of your ducks in the field or at home. Please remember to wrap the whole head and legs in wet paper towels, and freeze in a Ziploc freezer bag. NO grocery sacks, trash bags, panty hose, etc. a Ziploc freezer bag is what you should be using. Thank you to the customers who have been doing this to their birds before bringing them to me The new people on my page probably do not know and that is fine but in the future, please take care of your trophies.
