Lyons Veterinary Clinic is a mixed animal practice located in Lyons, KS. LVC is owned by Dr. Scott Randolph and Dr. Debra Zwick-Randolph of Ark Veterinary Clinic in Sterling, KS. We offer both large and small animal services including surgery and medicine, preventative care, herd health consults, ultrasonography and radiography, pregnancy testing, boarding, and grooming among other things. We also work with Friends of Animals and actively adopt out dogs and cats in this program. We are happy to provide these services to our community and always enjoy working with both new and established clients.

Deaf dogs are more common than most people realize, and many look and act no different than any other dog. Hearing loss can be present from birth or develop gradually with age, and certain breeds, including Dalmatians, Australian Shepherds, and some terriers, are more likely to be born at least partially deaf.

Watch for signs like not responding to their name, sleeping more deeply than usual, or startling easily. When approached with guided training and meaningful adjustments to care, you can create a safe environment where they can be happy, safe, and at peace.

July 15 is Pet Fire Safety Day, which is as perfect a time as any to take a few small steps now that could make a big difference later.
