Happy first day of fall, Hippie Hounds Fam! 🍂

The season brings cozy walks and crunchy leaves—but a few hidden hazards too.

Here's what to watch for this autumn:

🍄 Toxic mushrooms popping up after the rain

🍁 Fallen leaves produce mold spores that can increase allergies

🚗 Antifreeze leaks—sweet-smelling but deadly

🌿 Seasonal plants and mums that can upset tummies

🌧️ Matting happens much more easily as the rain picks up

A little awareness keeps your best friend safe all season long. 🩵

Four years. FOUR YEARS of Best in the PNW! 🏆🐾

We're feeling all the feels today, and honestly? We can't stop smiling.

This award isn't ours alone. It belongs to every single person who voted, every loyal client who trusts us with their best friend, and every sweet, silly, wonderful dog who walks through our doors. You are the heart of everything we do.

To our incredible team—thank you for pouring your love, patience, and skill into every groom. You show up with warmth and care every single day, and it shows.

To the dogs—thank you for the wags, the cuddles, and the pure joy you bring. You make this the best job in the world.

And to our amazing Lynnwood community—thank you for believing in us, year after year. We're so proud to be your local groomers and the ones you trust to care for your dog. 🩵

There's nothing quite like watching a gorgeous coat come to life, especially when the dog rocking it is as charming as Griffey here. We had the best time with him, and honestly? We think he had a pretty good time too. 😌🩵

Leave us a comment below if Griffey just made your day! 🐾

Some dogs need a little extra love—and that's exactly what we're here for. 🩵

At Hippie Hounds, we offer special needs grooming for dogs of every temperament, age, and condition. No dog is ever turned away.

Instead of relying on extra restraints, we bring in extra hands. A second team member assists the groomer, so your dog feels held, encouraged, and comfortable—never strapped down.

Because comfort builds trust, and trust changes everything. 😌🐾

Watch how we work through every millimeter of a coat like Griffey’s here, using one of the most important techniques for thick, long-haired dogs: line brushing.

So what is it? Line brushing means working through the coat in small sections, one horizontal "line" at a time. We part the hair, brush from the skin outward, then move up bit by bit until the whole coat is done.

Why do we do it this way? Because matting starts close to the skin—right where a quick surface brush misses. Working section by section makes sure every layer gets attention, not just the top.

And why does it matter? For dogs like Griffey, tangles and mats aren't just cosmetic. They pull at the skin, trap moisture, and can cause real discomfort. Line brushing keeps his coat healthy, comfortable, and looking his best.

It takes a little extra time and a lot of patience—but Griffey and all of our long-haired four-legged friends are worth every second. 🩵
