Hi friends! The holiday season is upon us, so I wanted to touch base on a few important reminders.

Groomers are especially busy this time of year, including me! I still have availability throughout the season, but please expect little to no flexibility with appointment times.
If you’re running late, please let me know as soon as possible. During the holiday season, my usual 15-minute grace period will be reduced to 10 minutes.

Same-day cancellations and no-shows will be subject to a fee of 75% of the scheduled appointment total. This fee must be paid before booking your next appointment. Of course, weather-related cancellations will be handled with understanding, please prioritize everyone’s safety.

Holiday Photos: I’ll be offering complimentary holiday photos with each groom again this year! I see many dogs throughout the day, so if you don’t see your pup posted right away, please be patient. I promise I’ll get to them!

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS MESSAGE.

Let’s talk about matted coat for a moment.

Sometimes life gets busy, we haven’t picked up the brush or comb for a bit and our dogs start to develop little tangles, those tangles start to thicken and grow closer to the skin turning into a matt. Matted coat can cause all sorts of trouble from here, including: skin sores from how tight they are, pulling on the skin. Restricted blood flow to legs, tails and ears. Hidden moisture pockets that can lead to severe sores and infections. Hidden locations for parasites like fleas and ticks to go in noticed. All of this and then the trauma and fear that these dogs have to go trough in order to remove the painful matted coat.

This is my least favorite thing to talk about, but appointment consistency (every 6-8 weeks) will reduce and even stop this from happening to your dog as well as being sure to brush and comb them out at home between appointments. If you brush your own hair every day, you should also brush your dogs. They’re counting on you.

This is not a shame post, this is meant to be as informative as possible. I completely understand that life gets in the way of these things sometimes. So let’s work together to keep your pups, and my friends, as safe as we can 🐾❤️
