Meet Sadie 🐾
Sadie is back with us for a modified training program with one big goal in mind: earning her Master Hunter title during this hunt test season.
Over the next several weeks, we’ll be putting a lot of reps into cleaning up the little details that become very important at the Master level, specifically her honor, steadiness, and retrieval work. At this level, it’s no longer just about whether the dog can find birds and retrieve. It’s about control, consistency, patience, and being able to perform when the pressure is on.
Sadie is also a pretty special dog to us. We’ve been part of her journey since before she ever went home with her owner. We helped her owner/breeder select Sadie as the pick of the litter, and we’ve had the opportunity to work alongside her since she was just 8 weeks old.
Since then, we’ve helped her work her way through her Junior Hunter (JH) and Senior Hunter (SH) titles without too many hiccups. Now comes the next challenge.
Anyone who has trained and handled a dog toward a Master Hunter title knows there’s a big jump in expectations. Her owner/breeder recognized that and decided to send Sadie to “camp” with us so we can work these skills consistently and give her the repetitions she needs throughout the season.
Now it’s time to clean up the details, put in the work, and see if we can add MH behind Sadie’s name. 💪🐦
We’ve been there since 8 weeks old, so getting to be part of this next chapter makes it that much more special.
