This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Sweet Balboa stopped by earlier this month to spread some smiles and remind us to cherish the moments we share with those we love, two-legged and four-legged alike. 🐾

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day from all of us at Lyman Vet. 💙

Sweet Henry came in for his next round of puppy vaccines and completely stole our hearts! 💚

This handsome golden boy loved his pup cup almost as much as we loved seeing him and his adorable silly goose collar! 🩵🪿 Vet assistant Anna had the best time getting cuddles from this pup during his visit.

Keeping puppies up to date on vaccines is such an important part of helping them grow up healthy, happy, and protected, and Henry is already a pro at vet visits and pup cups! 🍦

Ollie is showing everyone how to keep cool this summer! ☀️🐾

As temperatures rise, it’s important to remember that hot weather can quickly become dangerous for our pets. Always make sure your furry friends have plenty of fresh water, shade, and time indoors to cool off during the hottest parts of the day. Never leave pets outside for extended periods in extreme heat, and remember, if it’s too hot for us, it’s too hot for them too! ❤️

Ollie definitely understands the assignment and is staying cool, comfy, and adorable at home! 🩵 Stay safe and help your pets beat the summer heat!

Sweet Bella and Duke stopped by for their annual wellness exams, vaccines, and yearly routine bloodwork Monday! 🩺🐾

Annual exams are one of the most important ways to help pets live longer, healthier lives. Even when our furry friends seem perfectly healthy, routine checkups and bloodwork can help detect early signs of illness before symptoms appear. Preventive care allows us to monitor overall health, catch changes early, and keep your pets feeling their very best. 💙

Keeping vaccines current is also essential in protecting pets from serious and preventable diseases while helping keep our community pets safe too.

Bella and Duke were such sweet patients today, and we loved getting to care for them! 🐶✨ Don’t forget to schedule your pet’s yearly wellness visit to keep them happy, healthy, and protected year-round.

🐾 Meet Precious Joy! 🐾

Sweet Precious Joy came to see us earlier this week because she was dealing with intense itching from an allergy flare-up. As much as we all love the warmer weather, allergy season can be tough on our pets! 🌼☀️

Just like people, pets can react to seasonal pollen, grasses, dust, and other environmental allergens. Signs of allergies in pets may include:
• Excessive scratching or licking
• Red or irritated skin
• Ear infections
• Hair loss or hot spots

Keeping allergies under control is important not only for your pet’s comfort, but also to help prevent secondary skin infections and chronic irritation. If you notice your pet scratching more than usual, don’t wait for it to get worse, early treatment can make a huge difference! 🩺🐶🐱

We also want to remind everyone that flea and tick prevention is essential year-round, especially during warmer months. Even a single flea bite can trigger severe itching in pets with allergies, and prevention helps protect against dangerous flea- and tick-borne diseases.

Precious Joy is already feeling much better, and we’re so happy we could help her get some relief! 💚

If your pet is showing signs of allergies or needs to get back on flea and tick prevention, give us a call, we’re here to help keep them comfortable and healthy all season long! 🐾

Sweet Senior Spotlight: Meet Penny!

Penny, a precious 17-year-old Jack Russell mix, came to see us for her yearly senior wellness exam and senior bloodwork, and she was as sweet as ever! 💕🐶

As our pets get older, regular checkups become even more important. Senior bloodwork helps us look “behind the scenes” to monitor organ function, blood sugar, thyroid levels, and other important health markers that may not show obvious symptoms right away.

Many age-related conditions can be managed much more successfully when caught early, helping our senior pets stay comfortable, happy, and active for as long as possible. 🩺✨

Penny reminded us that age is just a number, and proactive care is one of the best gifts we can give our beloved companions. 💚

If your pet is entering their senior years, ask us about senior wellness testing at their next visit!

🐱🧡 Ember stopped by last week for her first visit with us, arriving in style tucked safely inside her mom’s purse (which she's made her carrier)! At 9 months old, she’s at such an important stage for her long-term health and wellness.

During her visit, Ember received vaccines, had FeLV/FIV testing completed, and we talked about scheduling her spay procedure, all essential parts of preventive care for young cats.

As cats transition from kittens into young adults, routine veterinary visits help ensure they stay protected against preventable diseases, monitor healthy growth and development, and address important health needs early. FeLV/FIV testing provides valuable information about a cat’s health status, especially for curious young cats who may have contact with other animals, while spaying helps prevent unwanted litters and can reduce the risk of future reproductive and behavioral health concerns.

Preventive care during the first year of life sets the foundation for a healthier future, and we love helping young cats like Ember get the best possible start. 💚🐾
