I recently had a heart attack. So as I work at gaining my strength back, I will be breeding on a small scale. At the moment I am finding homes for the rescues I have been caring for. I am known for breeding for health through low COI we have learned this strengthens their immune system. I am not saying it is a cure all but for the original Maine C***s that I do my best to work with, it does help. With the original Maine C***s that originated from the states we had narrowed down all of the health issues they had and actually had bred away from most of them. It saddens my heart seeing how the breeders from overseas have mixed our beautiful lines with other lines to develop DBE (dominate blue eyes) then of course Lynx tips that look like a corn field. And of course the type of coat is different. I have to admire the judges that have to w**d through these cats where people who do not know all of this is so wrong the unknowing thinks it is cute. But I will stick with the American Standard and pray that new breeders learn and will do the same.
