This poor sweet baby is barely over a year old and has already been through so much else in her short life. Now on top of everything, she was hit by a car last night. Owner could not afford to take her to the vet, so he surrendered her to my rescue. As you can tell from all my previous post, I only rescued cats/kittens and actually took a break due to the time restraints and financial tole of my daughter’s health/medical bills. Regardless, I could not live with myself knowing this beautiful, sweet baby was suffering! My daughter and I went to pick her up and took her to Bairds Animal Hospital. Her front leg was broken around a joint and said it would be really difficult to put a pin there but possible. He said the back leg started at the bottom and was a spiral fracture that went pretty much all the way up her hip had some issue, and there was something going on with her lungs. They said they would have to monitor. He said he talked to his dad who is the other vet and said surgery would be around 4000! He said he really wanted to send her to a specialist he sent someone already to, and I met that person the other week and they said they had about $30,000 in just the front leg of their dog! Not only can we not afford anything, but there is absolutely no way we can take care of this dog afterwards. We left her there for them to care for her over the weekend and give her pain meds, and he said we could reassess on Monday and hopefully have enough people donate and another Rescue step up. PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!! Share, call on Monday if you can donate (910-739-4998), and pray someone will step up to take her in because there’s no way we are equipped/skilled to take care of her if her surgery is successful/possible.
