We provide animal protection, care, control, pet lost and found and pet adoption services for domestic animals in and around the Luling. Pierce street behind the Luling Police Station. How to visit:

Because of your generosity, so many much-needed items were donated to help the animals at Luling Animal Welfare Society—from food and treats to towels, blankets, and other shelter essentials. 🐶🐱

🚨 NEW INTAKE — CAN YOU HELP GET ME HOME? 🚨

This sweet little pup was picked up near HEB and, sadly, there’s no microchip to help us find their family. 💔

For now, they’re safe with us—but a shelter is only a temporary stop, and after the 3-day stray hold, we’ll need a foster or rescue to step up if their family doesn’t come forward.

🐾 We love our rescue partners. 🤎

Behind every dog or cat who gets a second chance is a village of people and organizations willing to say yes.

Sometimes that means loading up a vehicle full of lucky cats and sending them toward a new beginning. Sometimes it means one special dog like Peter getting the chance to leave the shelter behind and start his next chapter.

These journeys don’t happen alone. They happen because rescue partners open their doors, fosters open their homes, transporters put miles on their vehicles, volunteers show up, and people continue to believe that every animal deserves a chance.

We are so incredibly grateful for the organizations who stand beside us and help turn “maybe someday” into “your next adventure starts now.” 🐾✨

Here’s to more miles, more second chances, and so many more happy endings. 🤎

That’s how long sweet Declan has been waiting for someone to choose him.

While his wait has been far too long, Declan has been incredibly lucky to spend this chapter in an amazing foster home where he has been able to grow, learn, feel safe, and become the beautiful, special boy we know today. 🥹🤍

He’s grown so much—not just physically, but in confidence, personality, and his ability to trust and love. His foster family has given him the time and patience he needed, and now Declan is ready for the next chapter.

He’s ready for his family. 🏡

The people who will look at him and say, “Yep. That’s our boy.”
The people who will welcome him into their lives and never make him wonder if he’s finally home.

Declan has already waited long enough. Over 600 days is more than enough time to be overlooked.

Now we’re hoping the right person sees this sweet boy and realizes that their missing piece has been waiting for them all along. 🐾❤️

This sweet senior was picked up near Buc-ee’s, and sadly, doesn’t have a microchip to help us find their family. 💔

This sweet dog has already been through the stress of being lost and alone, and we desperately want to make sure the story doesn’t end here. Please share far and wide! Their family could be looking for her right now. 🥺

After the 3-day stray hold, we’ll need a foster or rescue to step up if a family isn’t found. Senior dogs deserve soft beds, gentle hands, and a safe place to spend their golden years—not a shelter kennel. 🩷

🤎 Cyrus & Oakleigh are learning what it means to simply be dogs. 🤎

After spending an extended amount of time in the shelter, these two sweet souls have been in foster care for the past few months—and they are THRIVING. 🥹

They’re discovering that life can be more than a kennel and a concrete floor.

It can be running zoomies around the backyard. 🐾
It can be chewing on a favorite bone from the comfort of a cozy dog bed. 🦴
It can be stretching out in a warm patch of sunshine when the perfect sun spot shines through the window. ☀️
It can be having a safe place to rest, a routine to count on, and people who love you exactly as you are.

These are the little things that so many dogs take for granted—but for Cyrus and Oakleigh, they are everything.

And while their foster home has given them the chance to heal, decompress, and truly blossom, they are still waiting for their forever home. 💔

They deserve a family who will see just how special they are. A family who will give them the time, patience, love, and security they deserve—and who will never let them wonder again if they are wanted.

We are so incredibly hopeful that their forever is right around the corner. 🥹🤎

Until then, they’ll keep soaking up the sunshine, enjoying their bones, running through the yard, and learning that life can be really, really good.

DON’T JUDGE A SHELTER DOG BY THEIR KENNEL PRESENCE. 🐾❤️

The dog who looks scared in the back of their kennel might be the biggest lovebug once they feel safe.

The dog who won’t come to the front might just be overwhelmed.

The dog who seems shut down might have spent weeks, months, or even years wondering when someone would finally choose them.

Shelter life is HARD. And sometimes, all a dog needs is a little time, patience, consistency, and someone willing to see the dog underneath the fear.

At LAWS, we see it all the time. Give them a chance. Take them outside. Sit with them. Let them decompress. Let them show you who they really are.

Because sometimes the dog you almost walked right past ends up being the one you can’t imagine your life without. 🥹🐶

Don’t judge. Get to know them. ❤️

🌈 MEET JESSIE! 🌈

This beautiful girl is ready to trade shelter life for the forever family she’s been waiting for. 💕🐾

Jessie is a 3-year-old, 45 lb hound mix with the sweetest face and an even sweeter personality. She loves cuddles, playtime, and being around her people, and she does well with respectful dog friends! 🥰

She’d do best with older kiddos who understand how to respectfully interact with a dog and will appreciate all the love this girl has to give.

Jessie is playful, affectionate, and just an all-around GOOD GIRL who deserves to finally have a family of her own. 💗

Look at this adorable low-rider! 🥹💙 This sweet pup was picked up by animal control, but sadly, no microchip was found — which means we need YOUR help getting the word out!

💙 TANK UPDATE! 💙

Sweet Tank is absolutely LOVING his time in foster while he heals from his happy tail! 🥹🐾 His amazing foster parents are giving him exactly what he needs right now — plenty of rest, decompression, patience, and SO much love. And this boy is soaking it all in. 🥰

As we’ve gotten to know Tank better, we’ve learned that he will be most successful as the only pet in his forever home. Because he missed out on important socialization as a puppy, he doesn’t always understand or read other dogs’ cues appropriately. We want to set Tank — and any other animals — up for success, so a home where he can be the one and only is the best fit for this sweet boy. ❤️

And honestly? Tank has SO much love to give. His foster family says he is a total lover boy who knows sit, no, and crate, and he LOVES to play and stay active. 🥹🎾 He’s the kind of dog who will happily soak up all the attention, adventure, and love his person has to offer.

Now we just need to find the family who is going to look at Tank and say, “Yep. You’re our boy.” 🥹💙
