π¨ Important Update for All Pet Parents π¨
At Lone Star Veterinary Clinic, the health and safety of your four-legged family members is always our top priority! πΎ
To stay compliant with state veterinary medical regulations, we want to remind everyone that a valid Veterinarian-Client-Patient Relationship (VCPR) must be established or renewed every 12 months to legally refill any prescription medications.
What does this mean for you?
If our veterinarians haven't evaluated your pet in person within the last 365 days, we are legally unable to dispense or approve prescription medication refills.
This strictly includes routine preventative care items like:
π Heartworm Preventatives
πͺ° Flea & Tick Preventatives
π§ͺ Chronic Illness Medications (such as daily arthritis, thyroid, allergy, or heart meds)
How to plan ahead:
1οΈβ£ Check the calendar: Is your pet due for their annual wellness checkup?
2οΈβ£ Don't wait until you're out: Please submit refill requests before your current supply runs out.
3οΈβ£ Allow us time: We require 24 hours to process and review all routine prescription pharmacy requests.
If your pet is overdue or coming up on their annual exam, letβs get them taken care of!
