There are some goodbyes that are simply too difficult to put into words. Yet behind every goodbye is a beautiful story of a life filled with love, companionship, and countless memories.

Today, we invite you to remember a very special pet through the eyes of the person who loved them most. Her family has shared a few words about the incredible life they shared together, and we are honored to give her story a place to be remembered.

“In Loving Memory of Maggie

At almost 15 years of pure love, our sweet Maggie crossed the rainbow bridge far too soon. She was the absolute best little cat in the world, and she knew it. Maggie’s greatest joy was simply being near her hoomans. She didn’t need grand adventures—just a quiet spot close by, content to share the same space and the same quiet moments. She loved watching the birds outside, chattering at them with that soft, determined little voice as if she had important things to say. And of course, she never turned down a snack. Turning on the water faucets was her absolute favorite pastime—her personal sport and greatest entertainment.

She answered to many names over the years:

Magpie
P-nut
Big-P
Bug
Miss Nuts

Each one was said with love, and she answered to every single one.

Cancer sucks, That’s all.

We will miss her gentle presence, her bird-watching commentary, her snack-time enthusiasm, and the way she made ordinary days feel warmer just by being in them.

Rest easy, Big P.

You were so deeply loved.

And you are so deeply missed.”

Rest easy, sweet girl 🐾❤️

Some goodbyes are never easy, but they are a reflection of a love that runs deep.

When we spoke with Jay Jays owner, this is what they say…

He loved to play ball and go for rides in the car. He loved his family so much and never met a person he didn't like. He was a rescue from Osceola county animal shelter.

A lifetime can never feel long enough when it is spent loving a dog.

Today, we remember Rose, a sweet pup who left behind more than paw prints. She left behind a lifetime of love, memories, laughter, and an irreplaceable place in her family’s heart. We were honored to help make her final moments peaceful and surrounded by the love she knew so well.

Below, her family beautifully captured what made her so special

“Our sweet Rose ❤️

Rose was a Bavarian Mountain Hound, and for 13 years, she was so much more than a dog. She was part of our family, and we were incredibly lucky to have her.

Rose had a personality all her own. She was gentle with her babies and endlessly patient and tolerant with them as toddlers. She was the world’s best snuggler and insisted on getting under the covers with us whenever she could. She was incredibly loyal and always wanted to be right where her family was.

She was also our deer-tracking dog, and she was really good at it. That incredible nose of hers got her into plenty of trouble too! She could find every snack the kids accidentally dropped, and if there was an opportunity for an after-hours snack, she had absolutely no problem digging through the trash to find one. 😂

Rose had her struggles, too. She was anxious when she was left alone, and that anxiety could be really hard on her. She rode shotgun for school drop-offs and pick-ups, becoming a familiar and much-loved passenger in our daily routine. We even had to practically “drag” her into every vet appointment because she was so scared of what might happen.

Because of that, one of the hardest parts of saying goodbye was the thought of her being anxious or afraid during her final moments.

Lighthouse Euthanasia changed that for Rose and for our family.

They came to our home and allowed Rose to pass peacefully in her own bed, surrounded by all of her humans. They took the fear out of Rosie’s final moments and the stress away from us, allowing us to simply be there, hold her, and love her.

They even took the time to help explain Rose’s passing to our 7- and 9-year-old when I couldn’t find the words myself. That is something I will never forget.

I cannot express enough gratitude and appreciation to Lighthouse Euthanasia for the compassion and care they showed Rose and our entire family. Their home service gave us the gift of being able to say goodbye in the place where Rose felt safest, surrounded by the people she loved most.

So, thank you, Lighthouse Euthanasia, for taking such beautiful care of our girl and our family when we needed it most.

And thank you, Rosie, for 13 wonderful years. Thank you for being our snuggler, our shotgun passenger, our deer tracker, our snack detective, and most importantly, a beloved part of our family.

You saw us through so many chapters of our lives, and we will carry you with us through all the chapters still to come.

We love you, Rosie. ❤️”

Today, we honor a very special life and the immeasurable love shared between a beloved pet and their family.

When we spoke with his owners, this is what they said…

“Cooper,
Beloved family dog, and a very good boy, crossed the Rainbow Bridge at approx 9:10 PM on July 9, 2026. He breathed his last breath next to the fish pond he loved with his master by his side. Born June 10, 2017 in Texas, Cooper was adopted at 12 weeks old by Gary and Norma. Always a good boy, he quickly learned basic commands and how to potty outside. Cooper loved to play tug-o-war and squeaky toy but his favorite was ball with the flingy thingy. He was easily distracted when doing his business in the woods often returning without the ball. Spring ball hunts often turned up 70+ balls. His best pal was the stuffed bear mom gave him as a pup. Cooper loved Bear until the end. His favorite food was pizza crust.
Cooper was friends with all the cats he shared his home with. Cooper is survived by mom & dad Gary & Norma, his best human buddies Morgan and Connar, his cat friends Walter, Lillian, Luna and Vinnie. Cooper and Bear are interred in the Muyskens Family Pet Cemetery. We love and miss you Cooper.”

It is a privilege to help families say goodbye in the comfort of home, where love surrounds every final moment. We are grateful to share this beautiful tribute, written by Brewtus’ family, in celebration of a life that will never be forgotten.

When we spoke to Brewtus’ family, this is what they said…

“Brewtus was the best addition to our family. We got him as a puppy in Lubbock TX. He was big help to our Blanca who was suffering from depression due to the move. At that point we didn't know exactly how much we needed him until he wasn't with us anymore. After moving back to Michigan, Brewtus was about months old and his personality really came out. He loved the summers where he could sunbathe with mom for hours. In the winters he was the stealer of the blankets, all of them. He was the protector of our home and everything secret we told him. He was the gentle giant who comforted every tear. Greeted you at the door every day, even when it hurt to get up. When he was relaxed and knew we all okay you could find him on the couch sleeping on his back with all fours legs stretched out. When he wanted your attention he would bop you with his nose. Those nose bops don't come anymore and we miss them dearly. Brewtus will forever be loved and always missed.”

Today, we have the privilege of honoring a beloved companion whose love, loyalty, and unique spirit touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her. While our time with our pets is never long enough, the memories they leave behind become part of us forever.

When we spoke with Rivers owner, this is what they said

“River loved ice cream, walks, snow, squirrels, her cat Otis and her family. Scratches from her boy Evan were the best, he always found the spots that needed it most. She also loved whenever Evan grilled, especially when Lauren was home because she was the weakest link when it came to sharing human food.

She did not love warm weather or the beach, she would rather stay at Papa's house where he would put a fan on the floor for her.

She spent a lot of time at MSU visiting both Lauren and Evan. She was very popular there and loved to have her head out the window of the car.

We miss her!”

It is a privilege to witness the depth of love that exists between pets and the people who care for them. While saying goodbye is never easy, the memories they leave behind continue to bring comfort and remind us that love doesn’t end, it simply changes.

When we asked what Nikita was like, this is what her family had to say…

“Nikita, we Adopted her from Humboldt County animal shelter in 2013, she was in our wedding, helped me foster dozens of kittens, raised 3 puppies, 2 babies. Moved across the country with us to Michigan. She loved to play ball, swim in rivers across California and lakes of Michigan. She loved to run, loved kids and was loyal and steadfast by my side til the very end.”

Every pet leaves a unique imprint on the hearts of those who love them. Today, we are honored to share the story of a cherished companion whose life was filled with unconditional love,l and joyful memories.

When asked about what Rufus was like, this is what his owners had to say…

“This is Rufus Williams. I adopted him from the Reed City Shelter back in December 13, 2018. He was the only pup there that was so broken he stayed in the corner. I knew he was coming home with me, not another second to lose. Once he was home he blossomed into the most lovable, silly boy. He loved going on car rides, the seat had to be all the way back and he would only stick his head out the window if I went 35mph or slower. He loved walks down our road to sniff everything and to bake in the sun. He loved going on ice cream dates and would absolutely demolish a Slim Jim. He's forever my baby potato and it's been such an honor to love him and call him my baby boy”
