✨ Meet Jolene! ✨

Jolene is a beautiful 3-year-old Jenny from Lake Pleasant HMA. She is partially gentled and will need an experienced, patient home willing to give her the time and consistency needed to bring out her best.

She is not a beginner project. Her ideal home will either continue working with her slowly and patiently or provide her with a safe, spacious field where she can peacefully live out her years mostly wild.

✨ Behind the Shine | Small Steps, Big Meaning

Meet Strider, a 4-year-old gelding beginning his gentling journey here at Shining Dream Ranch! 🐴💛

Here, you can see him receiving his first touches—a meaningful beginning as he learns about us and we learn about him.

A first touch. A willing step. A moment of standing quietly beside us.

These are the kinds of moments we work toward when gentling mustangs and burros. Each animal starts somewhere different, and progress takes its own shape.

Behind those little victories are patient lessons, repetition, and attention to how the animal responds. For Strider, these early interactions are the start of building trust and a foundation we’ll continue to grow.

Follow along for updates as Strider progresses through his training and gentling. We’ll share his breakthroughs, what he’s learning, and what we’re still practicing. Every step deserves its place in the story. 💛

Meet Roo! 🤎

Roo is a beautiful 4-year-old mare who has been gentled and was recently turned out while I focused on working with some of the others. She is ready to get back to work and continue building on her solid foundation!

Roo:

• Halters, leads, ties and grooms
• Disengages her hindquarters
• Lunges and round pens
• Has been started on obstacles

With her athletic build and lovely movement, Roo could excel in many different disciplines. Her size and movement especially make her stand out as a wonderful English prospect!

She was last officially measured with a stick as a late 3-year-old at an accurate 15.2 hands—and she may still have some growing left to do!
