🌟 Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Meet Kim! 🌟

Kim joined the Southern Veterinary Clinic family in May 2025, and we’re so glad she did! 💙 While she may be a newer face to our clinic, she’s been building her experience in veterinary medicine since 2019 and has spent the past two years working as a veterinary technician.

Kim loves helping animals and learning something new along the way. In veterinary medicine, no two days are exactly alike, and there’s always something to keep you on your toes! 🩺🐾
When it comes to favorite animals, Kim has a soft spot for Maine C**n cats and foxes. 🦊 And just when you think you know everything about someone, here's a fun fact: Kim once met Selena Gomez at Disney World! 🎤✨ We definitely need to hear that story!

At home, Kim has her hands full with four dogs—Bear, Duchess, Abbey, and Beans—along with her cat, Oliver, and two adorable degus named Sugar and Spice. 🐶🐱🐭 That's quite the crew! We're guessing there's never a dull moment at her house.

🌟 Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Meet Rikki! 🌟

Next up in our Vet Tech Week celebration is Rikki! 💙

Rikki has been working as a veterinary technician for two years, and she brings her love for animals and her dedication to learning to our Southern Veterinary Clinic team. One of her favorite parts of being a tech is getting to help animals while continuing to learn along the way. There’s always something new to discover in veterinary medicine!

🐴 If you ask Rikki about her favorite animal, horses are at the top of the list! And with that kind of love for horses, we have a feeling she’s right at home around our four-legged patients.

When she’s not helping care for our patients, Rikki is keeping busy as a full-time college student! 📚 Balancing school, work, and life takes some serious dedication, and we’re proud to have her on our team.
We’re so glad Rikki is part of the Southern Vet family!

🌟 Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Meet Arielle! 🌟

Today, we’re celebrating Arielle, one of the amazing veterinary technicians (and the manager of our Millcreek office!) helping make a difference at Southern Veterinary Clinic! 💙

Arielle brings 19 years of experience in the veterinary field and joined our Southern Vet family this past year. With nearly two decades of experience, she knows just how important it is to make sure every patient receives the very best care.
Her philosophy is simple: she wants every animal in her care to receive the same love and attention she would want for her own pets. And we think that says a whole lot about the kind of person she is! ❤️🐾

🐢 Favorite animal: Turtles! Arielle absolutely adores them.
🐶 Favorite dog breeds: Terriers, especially the scruffy ones with BIG personalities.

You know the type—the little dogs who are fully convinced they're in charge! 😂
Outside the clinic, Arielle loves spending time with her family. She’s a proud mom to an 18-year-old daughter and a 6-month-old son, and her household also includes three dogs: a terrier mix, a Shih Tzu mix, and a husky. Needless to say, there’s plenty of love (and probably a little chaos!) at home.

We’re so happy to have Arielle on our team. Her experience, compassion, and commitment to patient care make her such a valuable part of Southern Veterinary Clinic!

🌟 Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Meet Jess! 🌟

Today, we’re celebrating Jess, one of the amazing veterinary technicians at Southern Veterinary Clinic who has a big heart for animals, a passion for helping them, and a love for the beautiful chaos that comes with veterinary medicine! 💙🐾
From comforting nervous patients and giving them a little extra TLC to keeping things moving behind the scenes, Jess knows that no two days in vet med are ever the same. One minute, you're snuggling a sweet patient, and the next, you're wondering how your entire day got turned upside down before lunchtime! 😂

Jess believes every animal deserves compassion, patience, and a little extra love, even on the messy, stressful, "you wouldn't believe the day I've had" kind of days. Because at the end of the day, it's about making sure every patient feels cared for and every pet parent knows their furry family member matters. ❤️

Veterinary medicine isn't always glamorous (and sometimes it's downright messy!), but it's full of moments that make it all worthwhile. Jess is proud to be part of a team that makes a real difference in the lives of pets and the people who love them, and she wouldn't trade the opportunity to do that for anything!

🌟 Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Meet Natalie! 🌟

Today, we’re celebrating Natalie, one of the wonderful veterinary technicians who helps keep things running here at Southern Veterinary Clinic! 💙
Natalie has been working with Dr. Dean for about 3½ years and stepped into her role as a veterinary technician when our clinics merged. Her favorite part of the job? Getting to help animals of ALL shapes and sizes! From helping welcome a tiny puppy into the world during a C-section to caring for goats and pigs, Natalie loves that no two days in veterinary medicine are ever quite the same. And honestly, how can you not love a job that lets you help so many different kinds of critters? 🐶🐐🐷
When it comes to favorite animals, dogs take the top spot—and if you know Natalie, you know she has a special place in her heart for we**ie dogs! 🌭🐾 (We have a feeling she wouldn't say no to a few extra dachshund patients!)
Outside the clinic, Natalie enjoys spending time with family and friends, being involved with her church family, baking, and playing a little piano at church. ❤️

🌟 Vet Tech Week Spotlight: Meet Cassie! 🌟
Today, we’re celebrating Cassie, our Technician Manager and one of the many familiar faces who help make Southern Veterinary Clinic special! 💙🐾
Cassie’s love for veterinary medicine started way back in preschool, and she landed her first job in the field at just 16 years old! Since then, she’s worn just about every hat in the clinic, working as a kennel attendant, CSR, groomer, veterinary assistant, technician, and now Technician Manager. Talk about working her way around the clinic! 😂
While she’s loved the many roles she’s held, being a veterinary technician has always been her favorite. Stepping into management has brought its fair share of challenges, but it’s also helped Cassie discover just how much she loves teaching, supporting her team, and helping others grow. She’s passionate about being there for her team in any way she can, and we’re so thankful for the heart she pours into that role every day. ❤️
Outside the clinic, Cassie’s favorite things are her husband of 16 years, Ronnie, their five children, and their growing crew of fur babies! Their household currently includes four dogs, three cats, a bearded dragon, and chickens. 🐶🐱🐔🐉 We have a feeling there's never a dull moment at her house!
When she’s not caring for patients or helping her team, you might find Cassie fishing, catching some sunshine, cooking up something delicious, or curled up with a good book. 🎣☀️📚
Cassie, thank you for the years of dedication, the knowledge you share, and the compassion you bring to both our patients and our team. Your love for veterinary medicine has come full circle, and we’re so lucky to have you leading and supporting our tech team!

🎉 Today, we’re kicking off Vet Tech Week! 🎉

This week is all about celebrating the incredible veterinary nurses who help make the care we provide here at Southern Veterinary Clinic possible. ❤️

Our vet techs wear A LOT of hats. They’re phlebotomists, nurses, dental assistants, comfort-givers, treat dispensers, professional pet wranglers (you know the ones 😂), and sometimes even counselors. They juggle a million things at once, all while making sure your pets feel safe, loved, and cared for.

They’re there for the happy moments, the scary moments, the messy moments, and everything in between. Their knowledge, compassion, patience, and dedication make a difference every single day—for our patients, our pet parents, and our entire team.

So, this week, we’re giving our amazing vet techs a little extra love and appreciation. They deserve every bit of it! 🐾💕
