Her Royal Highness, Princess Mickie, has officially arrived at Central Elementary’s Fall Festival! 🍁🎃

And of course, no princess travels without her royal court! 👑💕 Mickie has brought along three of the cutest members of her kingdom, and all four are on a very important royal mission…

🏰 TO FIND THEIR FOREVER CASTLES!

These precious pups aren’t looking for riches, jewels, or royal treatment (although they certainly wouldn’t turn down a comfy couch and unlimited belly rubs). They’re just hoping to find families to love them forever! ❤️

Come out, enjoy the fall festivities, meet our royal crew, and maybe even take home your very own prince or princess! 🐶💕

Because every rescue deserves a happily ever after! ✨

Wed PM …FOUND SAFE!!! Thank you to all who kept an eye out for her

‼️MISSING DOG LUCEDALE/HURLEY‼️

Sweet/timid female Jack Russell terrier mix ran into the woods this morning close to Davis Sawmill and Polktown at the south end of George County/north end of Jackson County. Answers to the name Dixie. If you see her, DO NOT CHASE- call us ASAP.

🚨 I nearly had a HEART ATTACK on my way to the shelter this morning! 😳💔

This beautiful dog was riding in the bed of a pickup truck traveling 65 MPH, and it was CLEARLY looking for a way to jump out. Watching it move around back there while flying down the highway was absolutely terrifying!

Listen, I get it. I personally do NOT allow animals inside my personal vehicle, so I completely understand that not everyone wants dogs riding in the cab of their truck. But I can also personally attest that there are MULTIPLE safe, secure dog boxes and transport options specifically designed for animals riding in the bed of a pickup truck.

There is absolutely NO excuse for putting an animal’s life at risk like this. One sudden stop, sharp turn, or split-second decision to jump could have ended in tragedy—not just for this beautiful dog, but for other drivers on the road.

And here’s the thing—if you need help getting a kennel to safely transport your dog, PLEASE reach out! We have several at the shelter and would much rather help someone find a safe solution than see an animal injured or killed over something completely preventable.

This isn’t about judging anyone for how they choose to transport their pets. It’s about making sure those pets arrive at their destination ALIVE.

If you love your dog enough to take it along for the ride, love it enough to transport it SAFELY.

This is NOT OK. Period. 🐾💔
