🐾 From Dumped to Dream Come True — Zelda’s Happy Ending! ❤️

Back in August, Zelda was dumped and left behind, eventually being picked up by our friends at the Lucedale Police Department. She had no idea that her life was about to change forever.

Fast forward to yesterday, and our sweet Zelda is settling into her wonderful new home in New Jersey, complete with a family who loves her and a future filled with everything she deserved all along. 🏡❤️

The days in rescue are long. They’re exhausting, emotional, and sometimes downright thankless. There are days when the phone never stops ringing, the kennels are overflowing, and it feels like no matter how hard we work, we’re barely making a dent.

But here’s the truth…

We don’t do this for the praise. We don’t do it for the accolades. And we certainly don’t do it for the meager adoption fees that most of the time don’t even come close to covering our expenses.

We do it for Zelda. ❤️

And for the hundreds just like her who deserve more than being discarded, forgotten, or unwanted.

They deserve a warm couch. A full belly. A safe place to sleep. And most importantly, a human who loves them like they’re the most important thing in the world.

Zelda will never know how many people played a part in getting her to this moment. But we do. And seeing her happy, safe, and loved makes every single hard day worth it.

This. This is why we keep showing up. 🐾❤️

Happy tails, sweet Zelda. You were always worth it. ❤️

🐾 A Friendly Reminder to Our Wonderful Customers! 🐾

Hi everyone! 😊 We just wanted to ask that you please be mindful of where you park when dropping off or picking up your pet at Ciara’s Pet Grooming.

🚗 PARKING
While we do own the majority of the parking lot, we want to be respectful and fair to our neighboring businesses and their customers.

Please park on the Ciara’s Pet Grooming side of the parking lot or use the grass area at the back of the parking lot. Please avoid parking in front of or on the side designated for our neighboring supplement store.

We also ask that you please do not linger in the parking lot after drop-off or while waiting for your pet. We will always call or text you as soon as your pet is ready for pickup. Parking is very limited, so keeping spaces available helps make sure everyone can get in and out easily throughout the day.

💩 PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR PET
We have also received several complaints about pet waste being left behind on both our property and our neighbors’ property. Please make sure you clean up after your pet.

If you need a p**p bag, just ask—we have them available! We also have a trash can located outside behind our fence where you can dispose of the bag.

We love and appreciate all of our customers, and we simply ask that everyone help us be respectful of our neighbors and keep our shared area clean and accessible. 🐶🐾

Yall say some prayers for our groomer Charlize, her husband and mother in law. They were in a bad car accident last night. They have been at the hospital all night and still waiting to be seen. So thankful that they were able to walk away from this accident 🙏

George County declares local emergency in advance of Isaias;
County opening shelter Friday morning

The George County Board of Supervisors approved a “Declaration of Local Emergency” on Thursday, Oct. 08 in advance of possible strong winds and steady rains from Hurricane Isaias. The County is currently under a Tropical Storm Warning. Outdoor and driving conditions will start deteriorating by Friday evening.

“Power outages and hazardous driving conditions are possible for Friday night into Saturday morning. This storm could produce heavy rain fall at times and strong winds. Flash flooding and roadway debris is unpredictable, everyone needs to be cautious.” George County EMA Director Eric Howard said.
The Board of Supervisors met Thursday morning to discuss preparations for the approaching storm and the county's emergency response.

George County will open the Agricola Storm Shelter, located at 3161 Cooks Corner Road, at 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9. Officials said the Agricola location was selected because the eastern side of George County could be closer to the storm's potential landfall along the Alabama and Florida Gulf Coast.

The shelter will be staffed by American Red Cross volunteers and operated under Red Cross guidelines.

 Additional information will be released as it’s made available.

Our hearts our truly broken this morning💔 our sweet Butch Aka Porkchop tragically passed away. He was truly a Ciaras pet grooming favorite, we all loved him so much. He has been coming to us on a regular schedule since 2022. We are going to miss his little piggy grunting sounds and his cute little personality. He was always so happy to come see us. These babies are a part of our lives, we think and talk about them even when they aren't in the salon. We love you so much our Porkie, we will forever miss you little buddy. You truly never know when it will be the last time we get to spend with them❤️😔
