💙 Our Last Spring & Summer Boy 💙

This handsome bicolor boy, born April 27th, is the last of our spring and summer kittens still looking for his forever family.

He is such a sweet, gentle boy who loves to stay close to his people and watch everything you do. He may not be climbing into your lap just yet, but he is perfectly happy sitting right beside you and being part of your day. 🥰

He is still a little timid about being picked up, but once you have him in your arms, he settles and does very well. He simply prefers being beside you for now. With patience, love, and the security of having his own family, I believe his confidence will continue to grow.

He is ready to go home now and has had everything taken care of:

Neutered
Vaccinations completed
Veterinary care completed
Microchipped
Ready for his new family

An unexpected update on this sweet boy. 💙🐾

Just yesterday we introduced him as available, and this morning I discovered that one of his little paws was extremely swollen. We immediately took him to the veterinarian, where X-rays revealed an injured/broken toe.

Because of the location and appearance of the injury, our veterinarian had an orthopedic specialist review his X-rays. We finally received the news this evening that we’ve been hoping for—he does NOT need surgery! 🙏🏻

The orthopedic recommendation is to splint the foot and keep him on very strict activity restriction while it heals. He will likely be in the splint for approximately a month and will have several veterinary checks along the way to make sure everything is healing properly.

A huge thank you to Fredericktown Veterinary Clinic. ❤️ We didn’t receive the orthopedic recommendation until right around their 6:00 closing time, but they asked us to bring him back and stayed after hours so he wouldn’t have to go through the weekend without his foot being stabilized. We are incredibly grateful for that kind of care.

For now, this little guy’s only job is to rest, heal and let us spoil him. His availability will be on hold while we concentrate on getting that little paw completely healed.

We’re hoping that swelling comes down quickly and that before long he’ll be back to being the happy, playful kitten he was before this unexpected adventure. He won’t be alone because his Momma will also be with him during the recovery period to keep him company. She is growling a little because she doesn’t recognize his foot. It’s a little shocking to even his own Momma. 💙🐾

🐾 An Update on Our Sweet Boy 💙

Well… just one day after introducing this handsome boy as available, he decided to give his breeder a little scare. 😢

This morning I found him with an injury to his paw/leg. I’m honestly not sure what happened, he was perfectly fine last night, and somehow our adventurous little guy managed to hurt himself overnight.

He is still trying to walk on it and is being his sweet, laid-back self, but we’re not taking any chances. He has a veterinary appointment at 1:00 today to have it checked and make sure there isn’t anything more serious going on.

For now, I’m going to temporarily pause his availability until we know exactly what we’re dealing with and know that he is completely okay. His health and well-being will always come first. ❤️

Please send some good thoughts our little guy’s way. Hopefully this turns out to be nothing more than a minor kitten mishap.

I’ll share an update once we know more.

💙 A Little Update for Our Shades of Sapphire Family 💙

Helen just sent me a picture of Coco Cream she turned one years old today. Happy Birthday Miss Coco.

I also wanted to let everyone know that I haven’t forgotten about the special family video and drawing! They’ve both been on my heart, but the cattery has been keeping me incredibly busy between kitten care, vet appointments, matching families, cleaning, and making sure every one of our babies receives the attention they deserve.

The good news is they’re still coming! I want to take the time to make them special rather than rushing through them because our families mean so much to me.

And don’t worry—there is still plenty of time to enter the drawing! I wanted to make sure everyone has an opportunity to participate before we choose a winner.

In the meantime, please don’t let the timeline stop you from sharing photos and videos of your beautiful Ragdolls! I absolutely love seeing updates, birthdays, funny moments, cuddles, and all the ways they’re growing. Every post helps keep our community connected and brings smiles to everyone in the group.

As Gidget’s babies begin leaving for their forever homes this weekend and next, I find myself reflecting on how much my journey as a breeder has changed over the years.

One of the hardest parts of breeding has always been letting go. In the beginning, I would worry endlessly. Would they be loved? Would they be cared for the way I cared for them? Would they be happy? So many “what ifs” would fill my heart as each kitten left.

Today, while saying goodbye is never easy, those fears have been replaced with gratitude. I have been blessed with families who truly love their Shades of Sapphire babies with all their hearts. Through photos, messages, and updates, I get to watch these kittens continue their stories in homes where they are cherished as family members. That means more to me than words can express.

Over the past several weeks we’ve been busy preparing Gidget’s babies for this next chapter. Watching them grow from tiny newborns into confident, playful kittens ready to take on the world has been such a joy.

Meanwhile, Jewells’, Buttons’, and Mae’s babies are growing beautifully. They are eating well, using their litter boxes, discovering toys, and learning the important skill of playing nicely with one another. Their little personalities are beginning to shine through more each day, and it is always amazing to watch.

The moms are doing wonderful, too. Gidget is enjoying some well-deserved rest and recovery time as she works on getting back into condition after raising such a beautiful litter.

Thank you to every family who has trusted us with a place in your home and your heart. Thank you for the updates, the photos, and for loving these babies long after they leave ours. You make the goodbyes a little easier and remind me why I do this.
