Tater Bug’s journey is a perfect reminder of why fostering is so important. ❤️

When Tater Bug came into our care, he was a frightened, severely underweight puppy weighing only 10 pounds. He lacked confidence, had very little muscle, and wasn’t sure how to trust the world around him.

A loving foster home changed everything.

In just a little over a month, Tater Bug has grown from 10 pounds to 25 pounds. More importantly, he has transformed into a happy, confident, playful big guy who now knows what it feels like to be safe, loved, and cared for.

Today, Tater Bug is on a transport van to a rescue where he’ll have the opportunity to find the forever home he deserves. While we’re sad to see him go, we’re so proud of how far he’s come.

Stories like Tater Bug’s are only possible because of foster families. Fostering gives animals a safe place to heal, grow stronger, and learn to trust while also opening up valuable kennel space.

Thank you to everyone who opens their home and heart to animals in need. You truly make stories like Tater Bug’s possible.

Seraphine (26-3237) and her 3 puppies, along with Penny (26-6371) and her 7 puppies, are looking for foster homes.

A shelter is no place for growing puppies. These sweet mamas need a safe, quiet home where they can raise their babies until they’re old enough to be on their own.

MEDICAL FOSTER NEEDED

Meet Cup (26-6040), a sweet mama with four tiny babies. She’s incredibly loving and just wants attention while she cares for her little ones.

We’re looking for a foster home where Cup and her babies can stay until the kittens are big and strong. If you can help, please contact Lubbock Animal Services. A temporary home can make all the difference for this little family.

It was a relatively steady and lovely day here. We had some amazing volunteers lend a hand, and a handful of our furry friends found their forever homes, and we were able to reunite one family. Congratulations to all the adopters.

A special shoutout to Nicole. Some of our foster kitties and mom have returned looking fantastic. Thanks to your incredible care.

We are still on the lookout for loving homes for our Mama Dogs and adorable pups. This community continues to show how well we can come together for these animals.

There is a slight chance of weather tonight, so please keep an eye on your fur babies. If possible, bring them indoors, check fences and gates, and ensure collars, tags, and microchips are up to date.

Speaking of… Clapp Park will host a free microchipping event tomorrow, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm! It is a safe, simple, and effective way to help ensure your pets can come home if they ever get lost. We cannot wait to see you there, Lubbock. 🐱🐶💛

Fosters Needed!!

Mia 26-7078 and her 7 puppies, along with ShawtyBae 26-2471 and her 4 puppies, are looking for foster homes.

Both of these sweet girls are very shy but incredibly gentle. Raising puppies in the shelter is stressful, and they would greatly benefit from having more space, peace, and comfort while caring for their babies. A foster home would give them the chance to relax, feel safe, and let their puppies grow up in a calmer environment.

If you are able to foster or want more information, please reach out. Even short-term fostering can make a huge difference for these moms and their pups.

Yessica and her 5 babies are in need of a foster home!
She deserves a safe, quiet space where she can raise her babies comfortably and with plenty of room. Yessica is very sweet, just a little shy at first, but warms up quickly.

They will need a foster for about 6-8 weeks

If you can open your home to this little family, you’d be making a huge difference in their lives.

This sweet momma (Lizzy) and her 5 babies were brought in earlier today. She is very sweet and affectionate but she needs some more room to raise her babies. They would need a foster for about 4-6 weeks.
