There's No Butts About It — We Love Tails! 🐾❤️
✨️we believe every Yorkie's little tail is a gift from above — perfectly designed to wag, wiggle, and tell the world how they're feeling.
❤️That's why we have decided we will no longer be docking tails! ❤️
This is actually a decision we made about 9 years ago, and we've been proudly embracing natural tails ever since! Our last litters have all gone home with their beautiful, natural tails, and their families have absolutely adored them! Seeing those happy little tails wagging and hearing how much their families love them has only reinforced how strongly we feel about this decision.
Although we've already been practicing this for quite some time, We're so happy to continue embracing the natural beauty of our Yorkshire Terriers, just as God intended. ❤️🐾
❓️ Our reasons you ask?
A Yorkshire Terrier's tail isn't just cute; it serves a real purpose! Their tails help them with balance, coordination, and communication. You can often tell exactly how a Yorkie feels by the way that tail moves — excitement, curiosity, joy, and even the sweetest little proud strut when they trot around showing off!
We don't believe in removing a natural-born body part that's God-given simply for the sake of a particular look or a longstanding tradition. Every part of these tiny treasures is special, and their tails are no exception. Seeing those happy little tails swish and wag is one of the best parts of raising and loving them!
Tail docking has been a common practice among Yorkshire Terrier breeders for many generations. However, as we continue to learn more about animal health and welfare, we believe it's important to reconsider certain traditions and make decisions based on what we feel is best for our puppies.
In fact, cosmetic tail docking is prohibited or significantly restricted in many different countries around the world. Here in the United States, tail docking is not federally banned, but some states regulate how the procedure is performed. Leading veterinary organizations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), increasingly discourage and oppose tail docking when performed solely for cosmetic purposes.
One of our biggest concerns is that tail docking is typically performed when puppies are only a few days old, often without anesthesia or pain medication. Although they are newborns, puppies can still experience pain. The procedure also carries potential risks, including bleeding, infection, and other complications. In rare cases, severe complications can become life-threatening.
While some may consider tail docking a simple cosmetic procedure, we feel that putting our precious puppies through unnecessary pain or potential complications simply to achieve a certain appearance is not something we want to do.
We understand that tail docking has been a tradition for many years, and we respect that other breeders may have different opinions. However, we believe that just because something has always been done a certain way doesn't mean we cannot choose to do things differently.
We believe our puppies are beautiful just the way God made them, from the tips of their tiny noses to the ends of their happily wagging tails!
And if you're interested in showing your puppy, don't worry — a natural tail does not automatically prevent your Yorkie from participating in AKC events!
our goal has always been to raise healthy, happy, beautiful Yorkshire Terriers who are loved and cared for from the very beginning. We are constantly learning, growing, and striving to make the best possible decisions for our dogs and puppies.
Their health, happiness, and well-being will always come before appearance or tradition.
We believe every little tail has a purpose, every wag tells a story, and every puppy deserves to be loved exactly as they were created.
