We still have around 100 spay and neuter vouchers available, with just over 75 days left to get those appointments scheduled through Live Oak! Let's get these vouchers used and make a difference in our community.

What you need:

Proof of residency in the City of Lubbock.

Bring your pet in so we can scan for a microchip or provide one if needed.

Proof of rabies vaccination, if available. If your pet isn't vaccinated, rabies vaccination can be provided at the time of the appointment.

Let's all work together to help reduce the stray and unwanted pet population in our community! Spaying and neutering helps prevent unwanted litters and gives our pets a better chance at a healthy future.

✅ Annual wellness exam
✅ Vaccines
✅ Heartworm testing
✅ Flea, tick and heartworm prevention
✅ Microchip contact information
✅ Routine lab work recommended for their age

Preventive care helps us catch small changes before they turn into bigger problems.

Today is World Rabies Day—and this is one disease we definitely do not want your pet sharing with the group chat. 🐾

Rabies is fatal once symptoms develop, but vaccination is a powerful and effective way to protect pets, people and the community.

Responsible dog ownership is more than keeping the food bowl full—although your dog may strongly disagree. 🐶

It also means:

🐾 Keeping identification and microchip information current
🩺 Staying on top of exams, vaccines and parasite prevention
🦮 Providing safe exercise, training and socialization
🥣 Feeding an appropriate diet
💚 Giving them patience, attention and a permanent place in the family

There is no such thing as a perfect pet parent. Consistent care and a whole lot of love go a very long way.

September is National Preparedness Month. FEMA recommends including pets in household emergency plans

If you had to leave home quickly, would your pet’s supplies be ready too? 🐾

A basic pet emergency kit should include:

✅ Food and water
✅ Medications
✅ Leash, harness and carrier
✅ Current identification
✅ Copies of vaccine and medical records
✅ A familiar blanket or comfort item
✅ A recent photo of you with your pet

Nobody enjoys planning for an emergency, but Future You—and your pet—will be very glad you did.
