This precious little boy is Coal. He was born approximately 6/8/2026. He is a chihuahua mix. Coal, his sisters (they have been adopted) and their mom were found abandoned on a dirt road outside of Lubbock over a month ago. Coal is a very playful, fun and loving pup. He loves to play with other small dogs and toys…lots and lots of chew toys are required. He is a young pup and are being p*e pad trained at this time.

Coal is currently available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program while he continues growing. To qualify for this you must live in Lubbock County. If your application is approved, you will pay a $100 non-refundable deposit to take him home. He must be brought back to the rescue for all scheduled vaccinations (you will be given a schedule) and also taken to his neuter appointment which will be scheduled by rescue. Once Coal is fully vetted we finalize the adoption and at that time you pay the remaining $100 of the adoption fee. He is not fully vetted so cannot be taken to parks, on walks, or even Petsmart unless carried the entire time and not letting his feet touch the ground. The foster family has worked hard to keep Coal safe and well and the rescue trusts the adoptive family to continue keeping him safe and free from disease until fully vetted.

Coal will be at the adoption event this Saturday 11-2 at 8901 highway 87 building 119. You can also email [email protected] with questions.

If you’re ready for the adventure of raising a smart, active puppy, Coal could be the perfect addition to your family! ❤️🐶

Meet the Flower/Flour litter! (yes we have an 8 year old in the foster family that insisted on having a “Biscuit”) The 2 girls are Iris and Biscuit, and the solo boy is Dandelion, or Dandy for short. The rest of the litter has been adopted. They are chihuahua mixes born June 29th and currently weigh between 2.5 and 3.5 pounds. These little ones and their parents were taken into the SPSPCA care about 2 weeks before they were born, so a loving and safe home is all they have known! Mom is about 9 pounds and dad is 6 pounds, so they won’t be too big. They love to play with each other, other small dogs and toys…and are very curious. They are doing well with using p*e pads and are used to sleeping in a famous puppy pile. They will need someone patient to help them as they continue basic puppy manners and learn to sleep without their litter mates.

These pups are currently available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program while they continue growing. To qualify for this you must live in Lubbock County. If your application is approved, you will pay a $100 non-refundable deposit to take one of them home. The pup must be brought back to the rescue for all scheduled vaccinations (you will be given a schedule) and also taken to his neuter/her spay appointment which will be scheduled by rescue. Once the pup is fully vetted we finalize the adoption and at that time you pay the remaining $100 of the adoption fee. These puppies are not fully vetted so cannot be taken to parks, on walks, or even Petsmart unless carried the entire time and not letting their feet touch the ground. The foster family has worked hard to keep these pups safe and well and the rescue trusts the adoptive family to continue keeping them safe and free from disease until fully vetted.

These little ones could be the perfect addition to your family! ❤️🐶 Come meet them this Saturday at adoptions from 11am-2pm at 8901 highway 87 building 119. You can also email [email protected] with questions.

🚨 TWO BABIES. TWO BROKEN LEGS. OVER $5,000 IN MEDICAL COSTS. 🚨

Sometimes rescue feels impossible.

In just a matter of days, two innocent babies came into our care needing emergency help to save their legs.

🐾 Blair, a tiny kitten with a huge will to live, was found unable to walk after becoming scared and jumping from a tall porch. She needed a femoral head ostectomy to give her the chance to walk comfortably again and live the happy, pain-free life every kitten deserves.

🐾 Little Andy, just a 7-month-old, 5-pound puppy, was rescued with a broken tibia and fibula. He underwent emergency surgery to repair his leg and is now beginning his long road to recovery.

Between emergency care, surgeries, medications, hospitalization, follow-up appointments, and recovery, South Plains SPCA has already put over $5,000 into saving these two babies’ legs and giving them a future.

And honestly… we need help badly.

We never want to look at an injured animal and have to decide whether we can afford to save them. We stepped up for Blair. We stepped up for Little Andy. But now we need our community to step up for us. ❤️

Every single donation—whether it’s $5, $10, $20, or more—helps us recover the funds that have already gone toward saving these babies.

🐾 Ways you can help:
💗 DONATE — Venmo: -SPCA
💗 SHARE — You never know who may see their story and be able to help.
💗 CHEER THEM ON — Blair and Little Andy still have a long recovery ahead!

These are the moments that rescue is all about. Two tiny lives. Two injured legs. And one community that can help give them the future they deserve.

❤️🐾 Please consider donating and sharing. Blair and Little Andy are counting on us. 🐾❤️

🏡 Sweet Julie is finally looking for her forever home. ❤️

Julie has never really known what it means to have a home.

From what we can piece together, she has spent her life being passed from person to person. People wanted her puppies… but no one seemed to want Julie.

Well, that stops now. 🥺

No more puppies. No more being passed around. No more wondering where she belongs.

Julie is ready for the soft place she has been longing for — a safe, quiet, loving forever home where she can finally feel secure and learn what it means to be someone’s beloved companion.

Julie is incredibly sweet, but she is also shy and unsure of herself. She has been let down too many times, so trust will not come overnight. She will need someone who understands that earning her trust is a process and who is willing to give her the patience, consistency and love she deserves.

But once Julie realizes she is safe… once she knows you aren’t going anywhere… you’ll discover the most wonderful little companion. ❤️

She may not rush into your arms on day one, but she has so much love waiting inside that little heart. She just needs someone willing to give her the time to let it out.

Julie is short and stocky, born approximately August 5, 2023, and weighs about 28 pounds.

She has spent enough of her life being unwanted.

Now it’s Julie’s turn to be chosen. 🐾❤️

If you have a quiet home, a patient heart, and room in your life for a little girl who desperately needs to learn that people can be trusted, Julie may be waiting for you.

Julie’s adoption fee is $175 which includes her vaccinations, microchip, spay, heartworm negative test with current preventative. Come meet her Saturday at 8901 Hwy 87 #119 from 11-2.

🐾 EUREKA! 🐾
Meet the sweetest Aussiedoodle ever! 💕

Eureka! didn’t get the best start to life. This beautiful boy, born around December 1, 2025, ended up in a rural shelter, covered in fleas and ticks and so severely matted that he had to be shaved down. So, yes… he’s looking a little “rough” right now. But underneath that haircut is one very handsome boy with SO much potential! 🥰

It became clear pretty quickly that Eureka! hadn’t had many—or possibly any—positive interactions with people. His foster hasn’t had him long, but they are already working with him on house manners and puppy training, and this smart boy is learning!

Right now, Eureka! is smart, handsome, loving, and a little bit of chaos all rolled into one! 😂❤️ And we are watching him quickly turn into a Velcro dog who wants to be close to his people.

Eureka! needs a forever family who understands that he is a work in progress and is willing to love him through the learning process. His forever family will:

🐾 Have breed knowledge or be willing to learn
🐾 Be active and ready to keep his mind and body busy
🐾 Have patience and commit to continued training
🐾 Be able to afford regular professional grooming
🐾 Have a secure, fenced yard
🐾 No apartments!!
🐾 Understand that this boy needs to be part of the family—not left outside or isolated from his people

Eureka! deserves a home where he can be inside with his family, safe and protected from the elements, and then head outside to play, explore and enjoy life WITH his people. ❤️

We think this boy is going to blossom into something pretty amazing with the right family. He just needs someone willing to give him the time, patience, structure and love he deserves.

Could YOU be Eureka!’s person? 🥹💕

His adoption fee is $175 which includes his vaccinations, microchip, neuter, heartworm negative test with current monthly preventative. Come meet this sweet boy Saturday from 11 AM–2 PM at:

📍 8901 Hwy 87 #119

Come see for yourself why we think Eureka! is going to be one very special dog. 🐾❤️

Spot (Shy Guy)
Came into rescue when his owner passed away suddenly. He came from a very loving home and was well cared for.

Shy Guy may not be the bravest cat in the room, but don’t let his nervous nature fool you—underneath all those nerves is a total sweetheart!

Give him a little time, patience, and some gentle scritchies, and you’ll see his tough-guy act melt away. Once he realizes he’s safe, he absolutely melts into the attention. 🥹

He’s looking for someone who understands that the best friendships take a little time. If you’re willing to let him come out of his shell at his own pace, you may just discover the biggest softie. ❤️ He also gets along well with other cats and cat friendly dogs.

Spot’s adoption fee is $150 which includes his neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. If you'd like to meet him, please send an email to [email protected]

Hi y’all!! My name is Wanda. I am a plot-hound mix born around 7/4/2021. You might laugh at my name but it sure does fit me, or if when you hear the name Wanda and think of a wild southern woman, then yes it fits me! You might remember me from June. I was posted for help because I was found very very sick and super skinny in the middle of nowhere on an extremely hot day. Let’s just say I was lucky to be where I was at that time because I wouldn’t have made it much longer. Overall, I ended up with hook worms, whip worms, very anemic, and heart worms along with burns on the bottom of my feet. I finally am to the point where I’m healthy!! Now, a little about me and my personality…after I’ve gotten to feeling better, let’s just say that personality did come out! My foster mom said she’s going to be brutally honest because she only wants the best family that is right for me because she loves me sooooo much!! I’m a bit of a wild woman. I think I have some hunting dog in me so if I see a squirrel, or a cat I’m gone. I will require a house with a very secure fence and preferably a tall one or I’ll be gone! See, I listen most of the time but if I see something I want, something comes over me and I don’t even know you’re there yelling at me trying to get my attention. I also will bark/yell at that dang squirrel to just come here, until I can calm myself down so don’t leave me outside or your neighbors will come knocking! I also can’t help myself but I will chew on anything laying around. Just put me up so I can’t be tempted, I swear it all calls my name to just give it a little chew! Those are the biggest things so now on to the good parts! You can’t help but look at me and love me. I have giant ears that flop around that my temp mom loves, she says they’re even cuter when I’m tilting my head around. I love to cuddle on her and she laughs because even cuddling, I can’t be still. When I jump on her lap, I jump with all 4 feet at the same time, working on my high jump if there’s ever doggie Olympics! I LOOOOVE playing with my fur friends so I absolutely need at least one other friend to play with that will run around with me and wrestle! I will run around the yard all day long with them and take turns chasing and then also move it into the house too! I do also love my sleep so in to a tiny Wanda ball I go when napping!! My foster mom will be there at adoptions so she can answer any questions about me you might have. She says, don’t let this discourage you from adopting me. She’s just ironing it all out from the beginning so you don’t have to learn it all on your own! I truly am the best!! Here are some before and after pictures of me! My adoption fee is $100 which includes my vaccinations, spay, microchip, heartworm treatment with monthly preventative. I will be at adoption from 11-2 on Saturday at 8901 highway 87 building 119. You can also email [email protected] with questions.
