Our pets come in all shapes and sizes, but how can we tell if that shape is healthy or not? Give your pet a nice squeeze. If it is difficult to feel their bones, then they might need some help managing their weight.

🐾❤️ Little minds, BIG dreams! ❤️🐾

Today, Dr. Hill had the privilege of representing Animal Hospital of Lubbock at Ramirez Elementary’s Career Day!

We had the best time spending the morning with these sweet Pre-K kiddos, teaching them a little about veterinary medicine, what we do, and how we care for animals! 🐶🩺

There were lots of smiles, curious questions, and of course, plenty of puppy love!

One of our favorite things about what we do is having opportunities like this to give back to our community and inspire the next generation. Who knows, maybe we met a few future veterinarians today! 🥹❤️

A huge thank you to Ramirez Elementary for inviting us to be part of such a special day!

Have you ever caught yourself thinking..."Maybe they're just slowing down"?
It's easy to chalk little changes up to getting older. But sometimes they're not signs of aging at all. Sometimes they're signs of arthritis. In fact, osteoarthritis affects 40% of pets — but most go undiagnosed. And the good news? Arthritis pain can often be managed with safe, effective treatments and isn't something your pet simply has to live with. So, if you do notice any potential signs – talk to us! We can help your pet feel like themselves.

🐾 Meet Dr. Johnson! 🩺💜

Dr. Johnson’s story with AHL actually started before she became a veterinarian! She was first part of our team as a veterinary technician before pursuing her dream of becoming a DVM and then came right back home to AHL as one of our veterinarians. 🥹 She’s now been part of the AHL family for 4 years!

A few fun facts about Dr. Johnson: she loves hiking, reading, and crocheting, and if you ask her favorite food, there’s no competition! Her mom’s chicken spaghetti! 🍝😂

We’re so lucky to have Dr. Johnson and love that her journey brought her right back to where it started. ❤️🐾
