We were proud to show our support for Dr. Sears and his amazing team this past week at the groundbreaking for the new West Texas Veterinary Specialty Center! 🐾❤️

Having specialty veterinary care available in our community is such an important part of helping our patients receive the care they need. We truly appreciate the knowledge, dedication, and compassion that Dr. Sears and his team provide to pets and their families.

We’re grateful to have wonderful veterinary professionals we can work alongside and refer to when our patients need specialized care. 🩺🐶🐱

Thank you, Dr. Sears and WTVS, for all that you do for our veterinary community! 💙

🍂 **Fall in West Texas = cooler mornings, football, pumpkin everything... and sticker burrs. 😂**

Happy First Day of Fall! 🍁🐾

As temperatures start to cool down, our pets tend to spend a little more time outside — which means it’s officially time to start doing the **sticker burr check** when they come back in!

Those little West Texas hitchhikers can work their way deep into fur and get stuck:
🐾 Between toes and paw pads
👂 In and around ears
🦵 In armpits and groin areas
🐕 Under collars and harnesses
🧶 Deep in longer coats

Besides being uncomfortable, burrs and grass awns left against the skin can cause irritation, sores, and infection.

**Quick fall habit:** Give your pet a once-over after walks, hikes, hunting trips, or a good romp through the pasture. Pay extra attention if they're suddenly licking a paw, shaking their head, or bothering one particular spot.

Welcome to fall, West Texas! 🍂

Now if someone could just let the weather know. 😂

🐾 BUDDY NEEDS A HOME! 🐾

Buddy is taking full advantage of office playtime today, and apparently he’s decided being an honorary staff member is pretty great. 😂❤️

Buddy is a Pit mix who is currently hanging out with us at Live Oak Animal Hospital South while he waits for the right person to find him. He’s a sweet, handsome boy who would much rather be spending his days in a home of his own than at the clinic.

Until then, we’ll keep giving him plenty of love, attention, and—as you can see—some quality time out of his kennel to stretch his legs and supervise the office. 🐶

Please help us find Buddy his person! Share this post, tag someone who might be looking for a new best friend, or reach out to us if you’d like to meet him.

❤️ Let’s get Buddy out of the clinic and onto somebody’s couch!
