Harper stopped by PETS Clinic for a nail trim, booster vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, and flea and tick prevention. One look at that adorable little tongue peeking out is enough to brighten anyone's day!

Whether your dog is hiking trails, playing in the backyard, or just enjoying daily walks, flea and tick prevention is important year-round. These tiny pests can spread diseases and make your pet miserable, but monthly prevention is a simple way to help keep them protected.

Muffin, an 11-year-old sweetheart weighing in at 11 pounds, visited PETS Clinic for her annual vaccines, including Bordetella. Staying up to date on vaccinations helps keep senior pups like Muffin healthy and ready for their next adventure.

If your dog visits a groomer, daycare, boarding facility, or training classes, chances are Bordetella vaccination is required. Bordetella helps protect against one of the most common causes of kennel cough, a highly contagious respiratory illness that spreads anywhere dogs gather. Keeping your dog's Bordetella vaccine current helps protect not only your pet but other dogs in the community as well.

⚠️ URGENT HEAT WARNING ⚠️

We didn't rely on internet charts. Our Wichita Falls team took a thermal heat gun outside to see just how hot these surfaces really get.

During Wednesday's thermal heat gun test:
• Air temperature: 106°F
• "Feels like": 114°F
• Truck bed: 136.7°F
• Concrete: 136.7°F
• Asphalt: 138.5°F

A dog's paw pads can suffer severe burns in as little as 60 seconds on surfaces that reach 120°F or higher. If these temperatures make you uncomfortable to touch with your hand, imagine standing on them barefoot.

Please walk your dogs early in the morning or later in the evening, stick to grassy areas whenever possible, and never assume the ground is safe just because the air temperature doesn't seem unbearable.

The ground is much hotter than the air, especially on man made surfaces. Protect their paws!

Binx may be missing the fur, but he certainly isn't missing any personality! This handsome hairless guy did great on his neuter day at PETS and soaked up plenty of TLC from the staff while he recovered.
