Some moments from a recent little photoshoot with my childhood pups - Biscuit and Jolly 🥹🐾

I love these sweet senior boys so much! We got Biscuit when I was 12 (I’m 24 now), and he’s always been a little anxious. We rescued Jolly when I was 18, and he’s definitely reactive around new dogs. Growing up with them taught me that every pet has unique needs, and it showed me how important personalized pet care is.

They’re definitely a big inspiration behind what I do. I’m SO grateful for these sweeties 💚

Hi! Just a friendly reminder that meet and greets and initial bookings are not only for clients to determine whether I’m a good fit for their pets, but they are an opportunity for me to assess and decide too.

If a pet is showing significant fear or discomfort during a meet and greet or first booking, I may suggest finding a different caregiver who may be better suited to their comfort level and care needs.

While situations like this are VERY uncommon, sometimes animals simply do not connect well with certain people for reasons outside of anyone’s control (past experiences, temperament, stress, who knows!), and I do not believe in forcing a fit that may not be in the animal’s best interest.

I reserve the right to decline or discontinue future services for me or the team if I believe it is in the best interest of the pet, our safety, or the overall fit of the booking. These decisions are never made lightly. My goal will always be to provide low-stress, compassionate, and ethical care for every animal I work with.

I also want clients to know that I will never leave you hanging!! If concerns arise, I will complete the current booking whenever safely possible, communicate openly, and provide as much notice as I can so you have time to make alternative arrangements for any future bookings.

Introducing my new series of posts: The Professional Pet Care Difference 🐾

Starting with… Emergency Preparedness!
One thing people don’t always think about when hiring a pet sitter is: what happens if something unexpected comes up?
Hopefully emergencies never happen (knock on wood LOL 🤞), but part of *professional* pet care is being prepared just in case.
Before care starts, we collect emergency contacts, vet information, and important care details so we’re never scrambling if something were to happen. We also work as a team! This means that we’re backup for each other if anything unexpected comes up. Your pets will never be left without a plan.
A big bonus to hiring a professional is our experience in knowing when something feels “off.” Working with animals every single day helps us to recognize subtle changes in your pet. These could be changes in behavior, appetite, or energy. We can then address these things before they become bigger concerns!

Thankfully we’ve never had a true emergency during care, and we’d love to keep it that way 😅 But being prepared is part of the job, and something we take very seriously!!

Some kitty friends from recently… and some bonus photos from over the years. It’s crazy to think I’ve probably cared for well over 100 cats during my four years as a professional pet sitter!!

Cats are SO unique, but that’s what makes them my favorite to care for 🥰 Many communicate stress in very subtle ways, and this is something I’ve mastered at noticing. Building trust with them takes patience and a calm energy, and one poor interaction can permanently alter the way that pet will view you.

My approach has always been centered around both physical and emotional wellbeing of your cuties. I never believe in forcing interactions that create fear, and I’ll always prioritize what’s best for the animals in my care!!

So thankful for all of these cuties + so many more that I’ve been lucky enough to get to know 💚
