October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month! 🐾

This month, we want to celebrate some of the amazing dogs who found their families through shelters and rescues.

**Meet Maude!** ❤️

Maude is an 11-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix who came from animal services. These days, she’s happiest doing what she does best: following her people around and keeping a close eye on everything happening at home.

Maude is our resident **stay-and-play-at-home girl** and shares her home with six other dogs. Four of her siblings are rescues too, including a Border Collie and three Chihuahuas.

She may not be out competing or chasing titles, but Maude is a perfect reminder that every rescue story looks a little different. Some dogs become sport stars, some become adventure buddies, and some are simply happiest being a beloved little shadow at home.

Thinking about training with your own rescue dog? We’d love to have you!

**Meet Angus!** 🐾

Angus is a 5-year-old rescue from Alabama, and one of the first questions everyone asks is, “What is he?!” The answer: half Miniature Schnauzer, half Pug, and 100% personality.

Angus has loved learning since he was a puppy and has grown into an incredible performance dog. He competes in obedience, rally, Barn Hunt, and Fast CAT, and he especially loves hunting for rats!

He and his handler make an amazing team. Angus even earned two perfect scores at Rally Nationals, which is pretty incredible for this little rescue dog from Alabama.

More than all of his accomplishments, though, Angus is a cherished companion and an absolute treasure to live with. He’s sweet, social, and always happy to make a new friend.

If you see Angus around the club, be sure to say hi! ❤️

Meet Glitch!

Glitch is an 8-year-old Border Collie who was adopted from a local shelter in 2020. When he first came home, he was a very busy dog who struggled with being left alone and would sometimes nip when he became frustrated.

With time, patience, training, and lots of appropriate outlets for all that energy, Glitch has gone on to compete in agility, obedience, rally, and Fast CAT.

His favorite things are playing ball, chasing just about any toy, and cuddling with his people. He also runs agility with a junior handler, and the two of them are heading to League Champs in North Carolina this November! Glitch also competed at Rally Nationals this past year.

Glitch is an incredibly sweet boy and a great example of how much a dog can grow when given patience, structure, and a chance to succeed. ❤️

If you’ve recently adopted a dog and want some help getting started, we’d love to work with you!
