The Summer Heat Can Be Deadly for Pets 🐾☀️
As temperatures continue to climb, it's important to remember that our pets are counting on us to keep them safe.
🌡️ Extreme heat can quickly lead to heat exhaustion or heatstroke—even in healthy pets.
If your pet spends any time outdoors, please make sure they always have:
💧 Plenty of fresh, cool water
🌳 Access to deep shade throughout the day
❄️ A cool, air-conditioned place to escape the heat
Never leave your pet outside for extended periods during the hottest part of the day, and never leave them in a parked vehicle, even for just a few minutes. Temperatures inside a car can become life-threatening in a matter of minutes.
⚠️ Signs of heatstroke include:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Weakness or lethargy
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Bright red or pale gums
• Collapse or seizures
