🐴 Great horsemen aren’t only made in the saddle.
One of the things we’re most excited about with our new Young Rider Pony Club at Wind Dance is giving kids the opportunity to learn the whole horse.
Riding is only one piece of horsemanship.
Our young riders will have opportunities to learn about grooming, groundwork, tack, feeding, hoof care, equine health, first aid, stable management and all of the little things that go into caring for horses well.
The goal is to help our riders become capable, confident and thoughtful horse people — not just passengers. 🤎
And you do not need to own a horse to be involved.
We’re currently building our first Young Rider Pony Club group at Wind Dance. If you have a horse-loving child or teen who would like to be part of it, send us a message and we’ll add you to the interest list!

No slackers at Wind Dance. 😂🐴
Apparently this policy does not apply to the horses.
While the humans are cleaning stalls, filling waters, making grain, teaching lessons and generally keeping the place running… some members of the team have decided their contribution is morale support from a horizontal position.
Honestly, they seem pretty committed to it.
Anyone else have a horse who works very hard at doing absolutely nothing? 😂

There’s so much more happening in a riding lesson than learning how to steer a horse. 🤎
At Wind Dance, we want our riders to understand the why behind what they’re doing while building confidence, balance, independence and good horsemanship along the way.
Our lesson program welcomes riders at a variety of ages and experience levels — from little riders getting their first introduction to horses to riders working toward bigger goals in the saddle.
We love watching our students grow into capable, thoughtful horse people just as much as we love watching their riding improve.
We currently have a limited number of lesson openings available in our schedule.

🐴 Something new is coming to Wind Dance!
We’re excited to begin building our Young Rider Pony Club program at Wind Dance Equestrian Center and are now welcoming riders who would like to be part of it! 🤎
One of the things I love most about Pony Club is that it teaches kids that becoming a good horseperson means so much more than simply learning how to ride.
Our young riders will have opportunities to learn about things like:
🐴 Horse care & management
🧹 Grooming, tack & equipment
🩺 Equine health & first aid
🥕 Feeding & nutrition
🦶 Hoof and leg care
🏇 Riding, groundwork & horsemanship
📚 Working toward Pony Club knowledge and certifications
🤝 Teamwork, responsibility and confidence
We want to create a group of young horse people who are excited to learn, spend time at the barn, support each other and become genuinely capable horsemen and horsewomen.
You do not need to own a horse to be part of the Wind Dance community.
We’ll be sharing more information about our first Young Rider Pony Club meetings soon, but if you have a child or teen who would love to become more involved with horses, send Wind Dance a message now and we’ll get you the details.

Never a boring sky at Wind Dance. 🌈

Fall is settling in around the farm, and we’re heading into a really exciting season at WDEC.

We have some fun things coming for our riders, openings for new horses and families to join us, and a new opportunity for our young riders that I’ve been wanting to build for a long time. 🤎
