🐾 Flea season isn’t over just because summer is! 🐾

We’ve noticed an uptick in fleas lately! 🍂 Just because temperatures are dropping doesn’t mean fleas are going away. Remember, fleas can survive year-round, especially inside our warm homes!

🛁 Flea shampoos are not flea prevention!

While we can provide flea baths to kill fleas currently on your dog, they don’t offer lasting protection. Once your dog returns to an environment with fleas, they can become infested all over again.

⚠️ Fleas cause more than just itching!

They can lead to:

* Flea allergy dermatitis: Severe itching and allergic reactions.
* Hot spots and skin infections: Painful sores caused by scratching and biting.
* Hair loss and skin irritation: Especially around the tail, back, and belly.
* Tapeworms: Contracted by swallowing infected fleas.
* Anemia: Blood loss from heavy infestations, especially dangerous for puppies and smaller dogs.

❤️ Prevention is always easier than treating an infestation!

Two years of The Red Dog. ❤️🐶

It’s crazy to look back at where we started and how much has changed in two years. We’ve learned a lot, grown a lot, and figured things out as we went.

Along the way, we’ve continued shaping The Red Dog into a salon that works best for our team, our clients, and most importantly, the dogs we care for. And we’re still learning and growing.

Seriously, thank you to every person who has trusted us with their dogs, recommended us to a friend, shared a post, left a review, or simply kept coming back.

And thank you to the girls who have been part of The Red Dog along the way. It takes a village… and apparently that village is mostly covered in dog hair. 😂

We’re excited to officially introduce Specialty Care at The Red Dog. ❤️

After working with so many different dogs, we’ve noticed that some of the same problem areas seem to come up more often than others.

Itchy or irritated skin. Yeast-prone skin and paws. Heavy shedding, dry damaged coats that need some extra conditioning, and Dry paw pads and nails that could use a little more attention.

Seeing those needs and smelling those corn chippy feet, over and over is what inspired us to develop our new Specialty Care Packages.

We wanted to be able to offer more targeted care for the dogs who need it, here’s what we’ve come up with

🐾 Anti-Yeast Care
For dogs dealing with yeast-prone skin and paws.

🐾 Soothing Itch Relief Skin & Coat Care
For itchy, irritated or sensitive skin.

🐾 Pawdicure / Nail & Paw Deep Treatment
Extra attention for the nails, paw pads and nose.

🐾 Specialty Coat Treatments
Deep conditioning or de-shedding care based on your dog’s individual coat needs.

These packages give us a way to address some of the specific needs we see most often without automatically adding those treatments, or their cost, to every groom.

As we’ve been approaching our two-year mark, we’ve been taking a closer look at what we offer, what our customers actually need, and how we can continue to better serve you. ❤️

And somewhere along the way, we realized something pretty simple: we’ve never really explained how our services and pricing work!

We’ve designed our services so you can essentially build the groom that works best for your dog.

Every visit starts with your standard service and base price, which already includes everything your dog needs for a complete grooming visit. If that’s all your dog needs, that’s all you pay for.

Want a little something extra? You can add any of our individual add-ons without having to upgrade to a bigger, more expensive package.

And very soon, you’ll also be able to add one of our new Specialty Care Packages for dogs who need a little more targeted skin, coat or paw care.

Start with what they need. Add what you want. ❤️
