Remembering Lexi...Mama's first baby.
Two weeks ago I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life, and had to say goodbye to my first baby, Lexi. My misses so good, my crazy misses, my good girl, sissy, Lou, Ann, Jean, Stinky Roo. She would have been 16 in August and I will be 40 this year. She was by my side for nearly half of my life and was my constant, in every stage of life. She was there for all of life’s moments, big and small, celebrating the good times with me and licking my tears through the tough ones. My loyal companion, my best friend, loving me unconditionally. She was deaf and blind, living with heart failure, and her body was getting frail and tired. My daughters lost their “sissy”, and as hard as it is, I am thankful they got to grow up with her, and got to love her just as much as I do. My heart is heavy and broken, but I know she is in a better place just on the other side of the clouds, at the rainbow bridge. Her body is no longer tired, she can see again, hear, bark, run, jump and play, while she waits for me and where we will find each other again.
