Metro Animal Services ( ) receives over 7,000 animals annually. Thousands of pets are turned as strays or confiscated s cruelty, neglect, abandonment, and/or abuse. We are unable to assist in owned animal surrenders without an appointment. Metro Animal Services' adoption services are operated out of its Animal House Adoption Center, 3516 Newburg Rd, which is open 7 days a week noon-

6pm, 7pm on Fridays. All animals available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, up-to-date on flea/tick/heartworm preventions and licensed through Jefferson County. These pets are ready for a same-day adoption!

“Georgia is 1-2, LOVES kids, dogs, and stranger danger isn’t a concept she grasps. She’s house trained, a passenger princess, and loves a good bath. She chases sun rays in the house the way cats chase laser beams AND she didn’t freak out at all the electronic Halloween decorations. In fact- I think she loved them and would be the perfect Halloween candy guard (probably let the kids sneak a few extra pieces if I’m honest).”

See a pet that is on a stray hold, and you are interested in adopting him/her? You can reserve that pet for a $50 non-refundable fee. Reservations are on a first come, first serve basis and can only be done in person, at Animal House.

Linger doesn’t want to Linger in the shelter anymore. This nice adult female would love to get out of here and into a home. 🏡 Linger is long over due for a little TLC, and a glow up.

Linger had positive interactions with other dogs on leash and was easy to handle. She did her potty business and enjoyed a nice sniffy walk.

Linger has a sponsored adoption fee. She comes spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.
